Jerimiah could finnally rest. The university orientation period was over and he couldn't help but feel a little proud of himself. He was one of the youngest orientation leaders being a sophmore and his group comprised of 15 incomming freshmen kicked some serious butt during the some times unbeilvably campy and boring events over the past week. Even though they didn't make the top 3 out of the 20 groups, he was still proud of them, they were his kids.
He felt comfortable in his dorm room. Enjoying the peacefull quiet while he could knowing that in a day or two his roomate, some dude from Florida, would arrive soon. The second floor of the building where he lived, Gwynn Hall, was still mostly unoccupied. some of the empty dorm rooms stood open empty. Afew times Jer would walk down the halls wondering just what the next few days would bring. Already a few other upperclassmen had started to drift on to campus. Father and mothers and boy friends and girlfriends helping the returnees unload there belongings in the parking lot.
Jer placed his long brown fingers on the sill of the window and looked out. He saw a few people milling about. waved hello to some of his former orientation team kids that were sitting on the stoop to Gwynne Hall. Then he felt a strong breeze come thru that caused his long dreads to blow back a bit. he quickly tied them back in a sloppy knot and enjoyed the wind that seemed to cut thru the late summer haze that had settled on the campus. He sat in the window sill looking down watching the people drift in. Ready to start the new year.
