I read the story before but can find it. What I recall is:
The Husband goes with his Wife to a funeral in a different city of her old boss/mentor/lover. She didn't want him there. The first incident is a the viewing the dead mans family treat her like family. The second is at the luncheon held at the dead mans home. The wife answers a question without thinking posed by someone in the kitchen as to where a food platter could be found. The husband also figures out the SIL knows about the affair. I think the affair is two parts. It started early between them at work and stopped when the Husband got a job in a different city. It stared again when the the lovers wife died and the wife went to console him. Became week long visit under the pretense of visiting her sister. Also the dead mans family knew and treated her like a stepmom.
