Oh, I don't know about that. Like all Trump-wannabes, he can't rally the troops like the real thing can, and his past efforts to do so have usually been counterproductive. If Trump is still around in 2026, the Republicans are already in for a shellacking in the midterms (since the hidden deplorables don't bother voting at all when he's not on the ballot); if he's gone by then, it could well be even worse for them. Vance only enters into the equation at all because someone will have to take over as president; it doesn't even really matter who.
