Disappointed

I was told a long time ago how much better the board was than chat, the stories, and most of the rest of the site. Sadly, I must report I'm finding this not to be true. This is not a put down to anyone in particular, and I'm prepared to be burnt, flamed, and grilled by all. It seems this board is just a lot of ranting, raving, disappointments, back-stabbing, and hurt. Hmmm, if I didn't know any better I'd say its a soap opera. I'm not trying to make light of anyone's problems, b/c I won't cast that stone (I've got my own) but why has the board disintegrated from what it use to be?

Boards got thorugh stages.

Because they're not about threads, they're about people. Read lots, find the people who's opinions interest you, and look for their posts. They'll nearly always have somehting stimulating or at least witty to say.

Ignore everyone else.

Nick, if that's the least of your worries, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I appreciate what you're saying, but you really can't (and mustn't) expect everyone else to live up to your expectations, or you'll be eternally disappointed.

Nothing in life is ever what we would like it to be, or what we expect it to be, the diferance is making the best of what there is, and doing what you can with it. Life is to serious most of the time, so a little fun and stupidity can let out the inner child and allow the person within to grow. Have a little fun, you'd be amazed how healing it can be, and how much you can learn about your self.

I appreciate what you're saying, but you really can't (and mustn't) expect everyone else to live up to your expectations, or you'll be eternally disappointed.

I was told that 5 years ago by a very good friend and mentor, sadly I've yet to pick it up Ally. In his words, I expect too much out of people, but hey, we've all got our flaws, this is mine. Btw, nice to see you.
