Dinesh D'Souza

He's been a famous conservative for a lot longer than that--he was part of the original Dartmouth Review crowd, and has basically been a character-assassin-for-hire sucking off various rightwing tits ever since.

I doubt this will hurt him any more than Rush's fans cared about his drug addiction. These matters only become "character flaws" when liberals engage in them.

...or simply make it into a victimhood-martyrdom narrative.

*pats Mark's greasy little head*

Aren't you special. Would a cookie make you feel better?

Nobody's denying that both sides of the political aisle have their moral failings...the difference between the Conservatives and the Liberals is the fact that you Conservative types looooove to lecture us about your sooperior morals.

Who was lecturing anyone on morals? Certainly not me. Though I do find it ironic that this would be brought up as a reason for discrediting the man, considering some of the more outrageous comments spewed forth by the liberal pundits in the last few years.

I truly enjoy those touting their moral sooperiority bein' hoisted on their own petard.

You have any clue what this cliche means or was it just something cool you found on some blog somewhere?

Dinesh D'souza is a favorite among the fringe right.

He is the producer of the "2016" hit job on President Obama, but first rocketed to conservative fame by blaming the 9/11 attacks on...surprise, surprise....the "cultural left" and divorce and immorality.

The self-righteous 51 year old D'Souza, a married man, was caught in bed with his 28 year old publicist Denise Joseph II on September 28th at an evangelical conference.

Next to his book is Killing Lincoln which I read and very much enjoyed. His new book is Killing Kennedy. I haven't read it yet but I will.
He's not a great writer but he's an entertaining one.
I have not and will not read the book by whatshisface that this thread is about. The few times I've seen him he comes off as a total asshole. Not at all like Bill O'Reilly who comes off as a complete asshole. Big difference.

O'Reilly is good to laugh at. He reminds me of an old fishmonger in an Irish pub talking about things that he thinks he understands.

Pretty much. He can be really smart about one thing then turn around and say the dumbest shit imaginable. Makes him fun.

He's often pretty smart about economic stuff, but his foreign policy opinions are often insane. I like when he has that guy from Howard Stern's show. It almost makes up for the horrible body language segments.

Dinesh D’Souza indicted Thursday for violating federal campaign finance laws

Large scale campaign finance fraud. Convinced his buddies to donate $20K to his pet causes and repaid them, in effect laundering campaign contributions.

Can we say "serious prison time", boys and girls?

It's really not a good idea to take these strong positions on morality. I mean at the end of the day, we all have feet of clay, even perhaps Pookie.

I didn't realise this was a bump, so read the first few post, quoting D'Souza's take on liberal divorce, etc. Kind of funny when yesterday the was a paper pointing out that the highest divorse and teenage pregnancy rates are in the most conservative counties and states.

I think it's the height of irony that D'Souza, a man who has made a comfortable living accusing President Obama of being a "fraud", is actually under federal indictment for fraud.

Dinesh D'Souza pled guilty to felony campaign finance law violations in federal court today. He now faces a minimum of ten months in federal prison. LINK
