Ok, I didn't realize the age of the gals we're talking about. I didn't have any toys when I was that age either. However, you are correct, there isn't 'always' the need to tell friends what we're doing in bed, on the counter, out on the grass,,,i digress,,,that's why she shouldn't be so concerned about what her friends might think. They don't have to know.
It is perfectly normal though, so don't be afraid to experiment.

I'm 20, and I have a small collection, I've also had interesting conversations with friends of mine about our toys... don't let age fool you

i have to agree, i know several younger women, mostly students of mine, and , yeah , most of them have a toy or two,
actually, a couple have extensive collections, and , me , i am only 30, but i got my first toy when i was like 16-17

toys are good for self play as well as self exploration. We as women need to understand ourselves before we can explain to our men.
