In a regulatory filing Monday, Digital World Acquisition Corp highlighted the bankruptcies of Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza, and Trump Castle, and the failures of Trump University, Trump Vodka, and Trump Steaks, among others.

Digital World, a SPAC or "blank-check" firm, is seeking to merge with Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the owner of Truth Social. Trump himself would control between 47% and 58% of the merged company and would serve as its chairman, Monday's filing shows.
Digital World said in its filing: "A number of companies that were associated with President Trump have filed for bankruptcy. There can be no assurances that TMTG will not also become bankrupt.
It continued: "A number of companies that had license agreements with President Trump have failed. There can be no assurances that TMTG will not also fail."

It added: "While all of the foregoing were in different businesses than TMTG, there can be no guarantee that TMTG's performance will exceed the performance of those entities."

Wait, Digital World says all this about the Trump businesses and still wants the merger?!

digital world changes its HQ address to a UPs mailbox

The company that's trying to buy President Trump's Truth Social social-media app has switched its headquarters address from a WeWork building to a mailbox at a UPS Store.

Digital World Acquisition, a so-called "blank-check" company that's struggling to seal a deal for Truth Social, has now listed its HQ address as 3109 Grand Avenue, Miami — the same address as a UPS Store that's sat between a nail salon and an Italian seafood restaurant in the city's Coconut Grove neighborhood, Google Maps shows

The Financial Times, which first reported on the change of HQ address, said a staff member at the UPS Store confirmed that unit 450, which is specified in Digital World's new HQ address, was one of its mailboxes.

trump media fired exec who shared whistleblower docs back in august

Will Wilkerson was a senior vice president of operations at Trump Media and Technology, which owns the social network Truth Social, and was one of the company's first employees.

Wilkerson filed the SEC whistleblower complaint in August, alleging that the company relied on "fraudulent misrepresentations … in violation of federal securities laws," according to the Post, in its bid to be taken public via an investment vehicle known as special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC.
In the article, Wilkerson also described strife within Trump Media, including tension with CEO Devin Nunes, who, as a Republican congressman, was one of Trump's most loyal defenders. Wilkerson also said another executive detailed how Trump pressured him to give shares in the company to his wife, Melania Trump.

good old anglo brit

but was that all you had to add to the discussion?
This seems like a business issue that you want to make political. I believe we have enough political issues in the world today much more important than a business merger.

Another instance where Brits like to add extra letters? Although I do enjoy the way aluminum sounds when Brits say it.

What!? Shady shit goings on in a trump company? I’m shocked, I tell ya, shocked!

this forum is for the discussion of political AND current events. The whole current events thing is the reason why the GB has become so dead since that rule was put in place. This story is an ongoing 'current events' issue that just happens to be linked to the person at the center of the biggest political issue America has seen since its inception as a republican democracy: the attempt to overturn the will of the people. Once trump is no longer a threat to democracy, perhaps most of us who speak of him will shut up about him.

Brits invented the language Americans speak and spell so badly today, so it's a case of americans bastardising the language not the other way around. And it's aluminium. :coffee:

Poor GB, now that was a truly frightening place at one point. Most people probably have a hazing story when they first arrived and thought it was a safe place.

Left wing loonies and right wing nut jobs, I believe they each have their place. Taking things to the extreme so moderate people can find a balance in between. When you hate someone so much you make every issue a 5 alarm fire, it overshadows real issues. Who cares about Truth Social? Regardless if you like it or not, is it the biggest reason to disparage Trump? Does it add so much weight as to be the camel breaking straw?

He isn’t the President.

Yes you can hate him, yes you can bring every issue in and make it a character flaw to prove he’s pure evil, that’s your right. I’m simply pointing out stories like this don’t sway people who aren’t on your side. I doubt most people are following this. On the flip side, fun and good social issues could be a topic too. It’s ok to not hate Trump for one day a week, it will throw people off.

We Americans love bastardizing anything we can get our hands on. Another badge of honor we can pin on ourselves. I’m so torn here, I want to make a dentist joke, but it’s been overdone to the point where Brits are almost proud of their gaping maws of rot. No dead horse beating for me today. Tea for me please.

i'm bringing up topics that others may (or may not) be interested in. If you don't want to read them, fine, don't bother opening them... but there are people following these stories no matter what maga mouthpieces would have you believe.

i don't hate him. why do people have to ascribe such positions? it's often because they 'hate' the current president. I would never waste such an intense energy on trump... he's only worthy of contempt and derision. If you want to post 'fun and good social issues', go for it! I'll post what i post and have posted many 'fun and social' posts before, mostly in the GB but not exclusively. Besides, a lot of the trump material IS fun for us who like to laugh at him *shrug*

oh dear. *yawn* dentist jokes are so 1950s... puhleeze  It's 2022, even if the mainly maga crowd think of brits in terms of Mary Poppins and Dick van Dyke, and consider themselves really up on all things UK if they reference Monty Python. time to get with the 21st century!

45 is a huge part of politics right now. What is so difficult about that to understand for people?

it's not, but the ones trying to shut people up about it are those most anxious to brush his crimes under the rug and 'move on'

If you focus completely on the right wing pundits and media, 45 is just as prevelant as he is.on the left.....if not more.

There is still a butter shortage coming.

I was thinking of a guy on yt who reviews movies. He’s late 20’s early 30’s and has rotten teeth in his mouth. He’s interesting and I enjoy his commentary, but I can’t watch him, I only listen. Mary Poppins has beautiful teeth and she has never crossed my mind when thinking of brits. I’ve never watched Monty Python.

No. I come here to amuse myself, not to contribute. I thought it was pretty obvious.
