Did You Tinker Today?

I tinkered with a few paragraphs, a tune, and the sink. Nothing was really accomplished, but the tinkering was its own joy.

I just like the word "tinker." One of the characters in a WIP is probably better described as a beggar/travelling salesman, but damnit, I'm calling him a tinker. I'll have him mend a pot at some point to justify it.

I 'tinker' all the time, if that can be translated to the act of writing. Every day, as a matter of fact.

Funny that, sometimes, 'tinkering' turns out to be more productive than I at first expected.

And thusly we have the expression 'Not worth a tinker's dam' (not damn, either).

Referring to the clay molds containing molten metal used in repairing pots and suchlike, that were destroyed when the work was finished.

So much for trivia.

If the Union of Worldwide Tinkerers held a convention in the same hotel as the rubber doll lovers... that's a movie. A romantic comedy.

I have not tinkered yet today, but do feel that pleasant sensation that a tinker or two lies ahead this beautiful day.

A footnote: not much tinkering in the hmmnmm home today. The plumber came by, but he didn't tinker with the pipes. He fixed them, since he knew what he was doing. That darn arctic blast - tough on tinkering minds

Oh! me too! hell, I'd play with them now, I think.
And there was another - metal pieces - Erector set! Hm, wonder if that explains things, too, playing with erector sets. See, these toys prepared the young in practical ways.
