Was anyone else sick of hearing them kiss Byron Leftwich's ass?

Edited for just waking up spelling errors:D

I saw the first half. I was rooting for Marshall. I felt they were the underdog. I thought Leftwich did a fine job in the first quarter. He had no decent receivers. Out of his first ten passes, 4 were dropped and he made 5.

They always make a fuss about Heisman potentials. I figured VT would kick their ass.

JL:kiss:

Well to his credit they did have five dropped passes the whole night. I have nothing against Marshall or Byron, but no matter what was going on on the field they found some way to kiss his ass. It was rather annoying! Lee Suggs could have just made a thirty yard rush and Lou would make a comment about how Byron is the best passer he has seen all year. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

He is the best pro QB prospect this year in the college ranks. Too bad he did not end up on a top flight team however. The guy can flat play ball! I thought the Herd might put up a better showing, but damn VT is looking a lot like the VT of 1999. Thats two good teams they have obliterated already.

If you were a Miami or Florida fan you had to have been pissed. They said he was better than Dorsey or Grossman. I think they put too much pressure on him to "perform" last night. Such a big fucking deal about it being nationally televised.

JL:kiss:

I'll agree the guy can play some ball, but I don't personally think he is the best and certainly not comparable to some of the pros they referred him to. Not yet anyway and yes Va Tech is looking very tough this year.

He is better than those two. Its very fair of them to say it. Just because Dorsey and Grossman were the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy going into the season does not mean there are not better pro prospects. Look at last year, Eric Crouch won the Heisman and David Carr was not even close. Carr lead his NFL team to a upset victory monday night, Crouch retired from pro football yesterday.

LOL, I can't believe he did that.

I like Byron Leftwich. But I can't understand what the Marshall coach insisted that their receivers coat their hands with butter sauce before the game.

It's not that I don't like him, I have nothing against Byron. Look at the total yards though, there is no reason they shouldn't have won the game.

476 yds for Marshall
496 yds for VA Tech

read between the numbers.
rushing yards
Marshall 34
Va Tech 395

Its easier to give up a lot of passing yards between the 20's when there is not the hint of a running attack.

Well that was the difference in the game in my opinion. the defense. Va Tech's defense is simply better, specially on the line.

Carr just fucking rocks. #1 pick in the draft and that was well deserved. A Heisman doesn't guarantee greatness in the NFL..most of us realize that.

Generally speaking most Heisman winners have their best careers in college.

VT always has a great D and their head coach Frank Beamer is flat out the best special teams coach in the nation...at any level.

Yep, 90 blocked kicks since 1990:D

Who is the guy on VT that's wearing Vick's number? I thought they would have retired it.

That is Kevin Jones, he is a sophomore.

They retired his jersey, not the number.

they may after his younger brother leaves. Considering they have only been on the national scene for about 8 or 9 years, there outta be a bunch of available numbers. :D
