Did you know...

... that today is the birthday of the Answering Machine? Sorry, I'm not in right now, but if you leave a message, I'll get back to you real soon now. The answering machine was invented in 1945 by Edwin L. Peterson.

Good morning {{{{{{DGO}}}}}} Even though that anniversary was a few days ago, it is worth remembering. How on earth did we survive before that? ;)

I wish he hadn't invented it. I hate leaving messages especially when I know someone is home.

I am an admitted screener of calls. There are a few reasons, firstly, the caller is calling at a convenient time for them, which isn't always convenient for me. Secondly, relatives. Enough said on that. And then there are those who require a lot of energy, not sure about others but I'm low on fuel these days and there ain't no drilling going on here.

I have, however, found a response to the "Oh, are you screening your calls?", said in that tone of voice we all know, to them I say, "Well, if I were, don't you feel honored I picked up?" My father has not asked me that question in over five years!

Sanity isn't all that easy to come by...must conserve.

Insomnia is just great. G'morning.

Insomnia is just great. G'morning.

Insomnia is my new bf!!

I went to sleep at little after midnight and by 3 am I was wide awake. I hunted for something to do for an ATC swap. Spent 49.50 for the program and used my shutterpoint account and bought four pictures for .99 each. I have complete ATC pictures complete. I have to make five and they can all be the same, so it wasn't a lost cause. ATC? Artists Trading Cards. Don't ask why there's no apostrophe. I don't know. They are 2.5 by 3.5 little works of art. They are to be traded and not sold. I got interested from a yahoo group. When that one merged with another one, I didn't stay and joined the ATC group. I'm trying to come up with a way to display them on the wall as pictures. I don't want to glue them to a backing though.

Here are the pictures I'm using for a digital swap.

Good morning {{{{{DGO}}}}}

Yes that can be a problem then. Oh well. Have a terrific Tuesday.

It's been good despite not getting much sleep. My son said that my sleep battery has run down and I need it replaced. :D

I decided it was time to dust. I've had the windows open for weeks and have skipped the dusting. Not a good idea. I had enough dust to grow corn.

Enjoy your day!

Hi, I like your son's comment about your sleep battery. :D Nodding at how quickly dust can "grow" when the windows are open.

Hope you are getting some sun today.

No, we just had a lot of rain. Not heavy but off and on throughout the day. It ruined my plans too. The city rebuilt a pond that was once in the park across the street from me. It now has a lighted fountain too. My plan was to go and see it close up today, but the rain kept me inside. It was turned on Friday afternoon and since then there's always someone in the park.

Hi Kayte, and everyone. :)

DGO, I love that you included the "Don't ask why there's no apostrophe. I don't know." is priceless...I wouldn't have been able to sleep not knowing that, (no pun on the bff, although maybe our bffs know each other).

I hope you slept better yesterday. I did. Make it a great day, or make someone's day miserable. The choice is theirs.

Did you know...

... that today is Solar Systems Day? In 1984, astronomers in Pasadena, California, announced the first photographic evidence of another solar system - 293 trillion miles from Earth.

Did you know...

... that today is Yorktown Day? This day celebrates the conclusive battle of the American Revolutionary War, where the Americans and French (led by George Washington) defeated the British (led by Lord Cornwallis) at Yorktown, Virginia in 1781.

Happy Birthday to.........
