The dedication page in Maya Angelou's new book.......

In the book she shares memories and the foods that helped make them indelible. I haven't tried any of the recipes but I may in the future.

The first story is a LIT story if I've ever heard one. Mrs. Townsend was an older woman who loved young men. The fellows in the town knew that I wouldn't go near her. Her lure was her food, especially lemon meringue pie. Maya and her brother Bailey had to listen to the story each time Momma, their grandmother, baked the pie!

Cute. Every time I have ever had the chance to hear her speak, unstructured, where she tells stories, it is always captivating. She is one that paints such wonderful word pictures.

I agree! She has such a calm presence about her. It's as if she's found both peace and happiness and nothing or no one can take it away.

I saw her on Martha talking about the book....I just love listening to her speak
& even tho we know I can't cook I will be adding that book on my list in Amazon to get :) :rose:

I've had the pleasure of seeing her in person and it was a pleasure. Even if you don't try any of the recipes, you'll enjoy the stories.
