It *might* not be too late, but you'll need the help of a data recovery expert, and you shouldn't be using the computer in the meantime. The saddest part is that any average computer geek would probably have been able to help you copy off all those pictures before you did anything to the machine. If I wasn't on the other side of the country I'd be right over to give you a hand.​

I've worked in the computer field a long time DD. As you note, sometimes it takes that kind of loss to get you more in line with your backups and all. If everyone would take the time to learn that lesson from someone else we'd all be better off...but no one thinks it can happen to them

I'm sorry you've lost so much. I know how important kids pics are. We're so terribly paranoid about our pics that we've got dozens of copies all over the place.

We'll look for you once you get yourself realigned.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am really upset right now and could use a dozen hugs. I had to restore my comp back to factory settings and I lost thousands of pics of my kids *sniff* Some ppl might think I am stupid 4 being upset, but I can't get any of those pics of my kids back .

Get a tech assist from the guys at purple.com The pictures are still there. They were able to hlp me get back pic's I thought I had lost when the FAT was corupted.
