Desert Rose your tight little box

is full of PMs
Yes and considering you are one of only 3 who PM me, albeit rarely, I have no excuse... I'm just lazy and like how full feels. ;-)

Did you watch it? Fast greens, weren't they? And Tiger's just as "beatable" as he ever was... ahahahahaha!

Nope, I didn't see it. But I'll be watching next week!
ME TOO!!!

People can say what they want to but there is no disputing, Tiger is the best golfer the world has ever seen.

And on another note: Beating Hank Aaron's record by drug enhancement is NOTHING. It's no record at all.

It will be interesting to see Jones, Hogan, Nicklaus, and Tiger playing in heaven all at the same age. Tiger would beat them all with today's equipment, but Bobby would flat out kick his ass with the old stuff. Hell, Hogan won six majors after hitting a Greyhound bus head on. Yep, Tiger is the best but he is standing on the shoulders of giants.

See you Sunday for sure DR!

I have to agree with you... he is on the shoulders of giants. Bobby Jones is probably the purest sportsman there ever was. And Nicklaus.... well, there's no one like him and there never will be. He's been my idol and hero since high school... ;-)

Next Sunday, it is!!! It's great to have a fellow golfer around, isn't it? ;-D

I do not lay claim to having any great skill at golf. I will not even claim to be a golfer.

What I do is start with a bag, some sticks and some balls.
I end with the bag, some sticks and hopeful I will still have some balls.

If I've had a good day and I'm lucky, I will end with the same number of balls as I started with. Not necessarily the SAME balls. Just the same number of them.

Perhaps someday someone will teach me how to actually play the game. While my irons aren't to bad and I'm okay on a putting green, I can't hit a driver to save my life. I'm lucky if I get 12" of vertical lift and 60 yards (with roll) using one. And no, I've never been able to afford lessons with a pro nor time on a driving range.

He keeps losing them. They just won't STAY where he puts them.

But if he really wants someone to hit his balls, I'm sure their's a dom or two who'd be willing.

Arnold Palmer was the man. Jack was this overweight guy no one liked. For people my sister's age who is 10 years older than us anyway. She was watching Arnold somewhere, the Masters I guess. Her ex had 4 tickets or so every year. I wish she had stayed with him. Anyway, Arnold hooked it in the rough right where she was standing. He had to hit it between some trees or something. He hit the shot and turned to her asked her if she saw where the ball went. I guess she was 20 or so at the time. High school beauty queen.

She said, "No, I was looking at YOU!" He smiled real big and walked off.

By the numbers, Woods is having the best career of them all so far. He's closing in on Arnie's career wins record and is all of 31 years old. Arnie's final win came in 1973 when he was 43 years old.

What a lot of people don't know about Bobby Jones is that he had his best seasons after he finished college while was either in law school or had just finished. And he only entered a half dozen tournaments each of his last few years in competition.

I'm proud to say I never lose a ball either... when you can only hit them 4yds in front of you, how can you lose one? LOL But I do have a good short game. I'm not bad at chipping. And if I get sick of swinging or I'm holding up play, I pick up and toss it. I play by MY rules. And have a helluva lot of fun doing it. Most of the folks I play with have fun, too... laughing with me about my "skills".

It's supposed to be fun. And when I go out, I make sure I have fun. I don't keep score or if I do I just write 8 for every hole... LOL So who cares about lessons, Geoff? Commune with nature and just have a good ol' time!!!
