I know August is a slow news month at the best of times but fuuuuuucccccckkkkkk.

Is there no subject of semi-universal interest to discuss or is it just me.

Excepting sex of course, but man cannot live by sex alone... can he?

Whine du' jour.

Is it possible to send email by osmosis?

Well, let's see. Just today:

Rogue Colombians were foiled in their attempt to blow(up) Clinton.

Posh & Becks settled a lawsuit against a blabbing former employee.

Mohamed Al Fayed is suing US authorities because he "wants to force the CIA to tell the truth" about Diana's death.

And last but not least, The Braves are down and the Mets are up.

That ought to be enough to make you shit, run, or go blind, as it were.

;)

Maybe it is the end of vacation blues, and people are resuming Real Life -- school and work -- and not able to devote time to their real interests.

In my case, this is the time of year when all my pagan and witch friends come to life again, and get very concerned with spiritual and magickal doings. It isn't very interesting to anyone else, though.

Expertise.

I know it's not excatly world news, but do you know that there is a new Tom Clancy, feauturing Jack Ryan, being relased today??

I hope to get it in about 2 weeks time or so.

Those crazy Colombians!

Actually the continuing adventures of Dodi was the only thing I found halfway amusing/interesting in the news today.

Conspiracy theory and theorists are the best!

I say Dodi hired the Colombians.

Got it Sunday Shyguy. Unfortunately I haven't gotten a chance to crack it yet.

I think that's a lot of it. It was around this time last year that the BB was put up, so I have no idea what's normal and what's not. I do know that for many websites summer's a tough time. We've been doing pretty well traffic wise - even growing a little. It'll all blow over. Who knows why? I sure don't. :)

If you wanna reeeeally laugh check out the mail section...some people should just never take off their tin foil hats!

Personally, I think the news has been so bad no one dares discuss it.

But, several of the hostages in the Phillipines were released. That's good.

The space station is building right along, that's good.

The weather this weekend in the west is, hopefully, going to be wet, that's good. (For the fires and people fighting and living them)

NASA has cleared Atlantis for a Sept 8th launch, that's good.

Xander and Angel's wedding is less then 5 months away. That's good.

Okay. There. I found something cool in the headlines. Hope it helps the conversation. I have one thing to ask though.
Is anyone else here as crazy about the space station as I am?

Merelan.

I didn't know that the spacestation was coming getting build. But yes I'm excitied about it too!!!

I just hope the human race will learn to their lesson from what happened on earth, and not pollute space.

Space is already polluted - there is almost as much litter up there as there is down here. So I guess that no, the human race will never learn their lesson.

*I really want to comment on the fact that the US is taking nowhere near sufficient measures to combat environmental pollution despite being one of the major causes of it but I guess the next US-bashing session can wait*

Peace.

Cheri their exists in this world, an unholy alliance. It is comprised of the Templars, Masons, several radical off shoots of the group "Up with People" and an association of disgruntled KFC owner/operators.

They are responsible for Kennedy, the Gulf War, programming on the Fox Network and the continuing pollution of earth and space.

Bastards!

I'm skeptical of the whole international space station thing. They're spending x billions of dollars placing this monstrosity into orbit for what? It's not like a trip to the moon, we have nothing to prove by doing this. We're not talking about humanity's "great leap forward" here. Frankly, what can we do with a space station that cannot be achieved by the present shuttles? Is it really worth the money and resources that could be put into research elsewhere?

I think I love you, but you forgot the Illuminati and those pesky Men in Black...

I think reserach "elsewhere" is the whole point. The space station is intended as a place to do long term research in a micro-gravity environment. The shuttles don't have the space or endurance for some of the research planned ofr the space station.
