Hello Literoticians!

Last week, Desdmona and I rolled out Desdmona's Fish Tank at http://www.desdmona.com/fishtank.asp.

The Fish Tank is a service to authors of erotic fiction who wish to receive constructive feedback on their writing. The point is to get specific feedback on what works and what doesn’t work in a story, with hopes that the author will improve his or her writing. If you write erotic stories, or if you just want to help a few amateur writers improve their craft, The Fish Tank may be just the place for you.

We are not a commercial venture; we're just a couple writers who would like to help raise the quality of online erotica and maybe make a few friends in the process.

If you're so inclined, stop by at http://www.desdmona.com/fishtank.asp and check us out.

Take care,

Poison Ivan

Dear Poison,
Love your nickname. I'm sure you have a good idea, but it's really stretching the limits of tolerance to expect the management of Lit to post a link to a competitor.

Hi MG.

I wondered about that and did ask Laurel first. Since we're non-commercial and author-friendly, she said it was OK for us to post an announcement here.

We review and discuss stories prior to publication, which I don't think happens much on the Literotica boards. I think we complement, rather than compete with, Literotica.

But if Laurel would like to change her decision about us posting here, that's fine with me. I certainly don't want to cause any trouble.

Take care,

Poison Ivan

Ivan, welcome and thank you for the generous offer. I too love your name. Will check out your site soon.

Best to you, Perdita

Since I'm new here, perhaps I should explain where the name comes from.

I started writing erotic stories on the Internet five years ago. At the time, I was infatuated with an old song by The Coasters called "Poison Ivy." For some bizarre reason, the line "You're gonna need an ocean/of calamine lotion" delighted me like nothing had delighted me in a long time.

Anyway, when I posted my first story, I signed it "Poison Ivy" in honor of the song. I then received dozens of love letters from men.

What a dope! "Ivy" Is a woman's name! But I already had the email address, so I made a quick change, and "Poison Ivan" was born.

Almost five years later, and Ivan is still here.

And I haven't listened to that Coaster's song in years.

So, there's my introduction. Very pleased to meet y'all.

Take care,

Poison Ivan

Dear PI,
That's cool with me, I'm just one of the peons here. I'll try to visit your site and see what you're up to.

Ps.
"Measles make you jumpy,
Mumps can make you lumpy,
Chicken pox can make you jump and twitch,
Whoopin' cough can fool ya,
Common cold can cool ya,
But poison ivy LORD can make ya itch..........."

Hi Ivan,

You know I'd read about this somewhere else and it looked great, but I didn't have a link. Now I do.

Thanks,

Jayne

^ didn't realize he had any Moorish blood.

Ivan: you're a really funny guy. I went to your website via your profile here. Loved the FAQs. And "Hand Sex" is one of the sweetest erotic stories I've ever read.

Wow, what a find. Check him out people.

You know someone had to come along and be the wiseass. It's like within five minutes of entering any chat room, someone just has to ask me, "So, how killer is your muffin?"

It's like reflex or something. One of those wonderous vagaries of human nature that makes us flounce on into the realm of the obvious and the oblivous with the fervor and zeal of a bumblebee tottering slowly through a field of flowers.

Welcome to Lit.

:)
