No data was changed or falsified. The surgeon general is qualified and responsible for making revisions to the assessment he deemed necessary. He had a differing opinion on part of the assessment draft submitted by the author for his review.

Per CNN, Ladapo said it’s typical for an assessment of surveillance data to include revisions, he has “expertise and training to make these decisions,” and the revisions were appropriate.
