Denzel Washington is one selfish bastard

Anybody can get a scholarship. They take financial need along with your qualifications into the decision.

Many Multi-Millionaires have scholarships.

A sports scholarship is based only on the talent in the specific sport, and that teams need for that talent, period.

Even if the money part had nothing to do with their decision, tell me they didn't think about "Daddy's" name attached to their school.

you both are missing the point

:p

I completely agree, Siren. He should decline it. But even if he doesn't take the money, I don't think they can give it to someone else. Not for the same type of scholarship. If he takes the football position, that's a place that's filled on the team.

There's only so many towel boys a team is permitted.

And I'm not saying he didn't earn it, or anything, but the someone on the school board thought about the name...

ONE last time Cibo

:p

I agree with Siren. Most college atheletes could not afford to attend school without financial aid. Denzel's son could enroll as a regular student and make the team as an invited walk-on, leaving the scholarship open for a needy athelete.

we are talking about the person that the scholarship did not go to ..........and instead went to a rich mans son.

Tell me how that person is coming out ahead please?

By not attending a shallow, lucre-eyed college with a lousy football team?

 *starts to laugh* I have no clue! I just thought that you disliked me or something! I was always so scared to post to you!!

*shakes her head in amusement* Maybe because I'm a dumb bitch who assumes things without asking first... God, I feel ridiculous now.

Open mouth, insert foot...

Sit down, my dear Siren, . . .

because I'm going to agree with you once again.

I do agree that the concept of scholarships was to provide tuition for indigent students. It seems I remember that from many years back.

And if Denzel wants his son to feel independent, let the kid earn his way thought school or loan him the money to be paid back like any student loan. His son will damn sure appreciate the education more if he has to pay for it himself instead of having it paid by the scholarship or even daddy's money.

Now you did it Unclebilly

:p

Fear me Tigers..........

It is not about deserving it.

It is about NOT needing it.

And one main criteria is financial need,,,,,,,for which Denzel Washington's son does not have.

He earned the scholarship.........but he doesnt need it.

Let someone else who also earned it, but is next in line and needs it,,,,,,,,,,,take the scholarship.

But no one else earned it. HE is the one that earned it so he should get it. If someone else earned it, they should get it as well, but they didn't and Denzel's son did. Maybe he worked his entire life to be good at football. Maybe he wants to show off what he can do. In my opinion, he should keep it and use it. If the college wanted someone else to have it, they would have given it to that person, but they didn't so be it.

Oh, my! That has to be the friendliest response I've ever received and the most complimentary. How about if we cuddle a little first? And maybe have a glass of wine and some strawberries? And then how about I give you a thorough massage?
