The grammar is a little sketchy in that quote, but the sentiment is not far fetched. The corporate media had to work overtime to dampen the enthusiasm for Sanders, and frankly, he ain't all that. If someone halfway decent comes along, like Tulsi Gabbard, they would be hard pressed to shut her down.

My fellow Americans have plenty of reasons to be cynical and pessimistic. But not as many reasons as the East Germans did back in the 80s. They had a super-oppressive police state with omnipresent surveillance of the population (well, OK, probably not as omnipresent as what we got under Obama.) And yet they took to the streets and overturned the dictatorship -- nonviolently.
