The open-carry advocates tend to look and sound ridiculous. They're often socially-inept basement dwellers who blather on about guns as if they were oxygen, while toting weapons that look like they came out of Call of Duty.

If you're a Democrat, you want these asshats on camera, early and often, whenever they align themselves with the GOP. Go ahead and sign their petition to appear at the convention.

NRA has 3 million members, the other 297 million of us don't give a fuck.

This would make for some hilarious Darwin Awards moments when Trump isn't nominated.

Dumz should sign a petition that its Convention and surround areas should be GUN FREE ZONES including security personel

Donald Trump says he wants to read the fine print.

Maybe he should read the Constitution too, while he's at it.

It doesn't matter what The People want, the Government demands that citizens at the convention may not bear arms.

The U.S. Secret Service will not allow people to carry guns into the July Republican National Convention in Cleveland, quashing the hopes of more than 45,000 people who have signed a petition saying attendees should be allowed to bring firearms.

The Secret Service said on Monday it has the authority to preclude guns from sites visited by the people it protects such as U.S. presidential candidates, presidents and former presidents.

"Only authorized law enforcement personnel working in conjunction with the Secret Service for a particular event may carry a firearm inside of the protected site," agency spokesman Robert Hoback said in a statement.

"Individuals determined to be carrying firearms will not be allowed past a predetermined outer perimeter checkpoint, regardless of whether they possess a ticket to the event," he said.

Doesn't look like it'll happen.

Chickens coming home to roost for the entire GOP. :D

The NRA will be protesting this, right? And giving shit ratings to any congressman that doesn't decry this as rampant government intrusion on American's second amendment rights?

It would make them look bad, considering they held their last convention at a center that doesn't allow people to carry.
