Polarization as they call it.

What specific things does the Political Party you support offer that keeps you from voting for the opposing party?

So does anyone not know why they support the political party they do or are they too busy bashing the other party?

Don't support a party but an ideology.

Whatever candidate/party is closer or more supportive of that ideology gets my vote.

With the major swing toward authoritarianism and collectivism I'll be supporting (R)'s for the first time next November.....(D)'s have lost their fucking minds.

I like real people. That's why I will vote for President Trump in 2020. He is not a dissembling, ambitious career politician. He is an American citizen who cares about Americans. Bravo.

Republicans are certainly no better or worse than Democrats.

Lower taxes are a huge deciding factor when I go to the poll.

Other points: strong borders, a strong military, a strong economy with fair and reciprocal trade.

I’m pro-life up until a certain point. I believe in the 2nd amendment

Anything the Democrats stand for, I’m basically against.

But, I get what your saying about Trump not being a career politician, fighting for America’s and not selling it out.

He's an adulterer, a liar, a fraud, a con man, a sexual predator and a coward.

He doesn't care at all about Americans, The only one he cares about is himself.

Yet still better than anything the (D)'s are offering.....

Maybe so. But why are you a Democrat?

Yup. There poster child leading their polls is an older white male with money that lies, too - kinda says something there. Even the next closest Bernie is in the same boat. If the American people wanted anything different in 2020, anyone of the other “diverse” candidates would be leading the Democrats in the polls by now.

Yea.

Fortunately most Americans aren't into the whole intersectional ethno-socialist scummery those "diverse" candidates are peddling.

That’s the most obvious indicator Trump is going to win re-election - when your opponent has to run someone exactly like you against you. It also shows they have failed to convince the American people they need anyone different than an old white guy with money who doesn’t lie in office. The rest of the pack might as well hang it up and plan on bitching and investigating for another 4 years.

It explains their off the charts cognitive dissonance and extreme irritability.

I’d be upset too if I knew before I voted there was no chance of my party winning. Landslide elections have to start somewhere.

Maybe so. But why are you a Democrat?

Partial list and in particular order
1) The environment
2) Reproductive rights and health
3) Pro consumer over business
4) Health care costs and protections
5) Renewable energy over fossil fuels
6) Civil rights
7) Education
8) LGBTQ rights
9) Gun control
10) Death penalty
11) Voting rights

I just recently purchased an Ivanka Trump dress on Amazon for fifty dollars.

Are you saying that I should send it back out of guilt?

No. You should return it because it was made in China and if you support Trump you should buy American. Except for his ties, of course.

11) Voting rights

Just a little addition.

Polarization as they call it.

What specific things does the Political Party you support offer that keeps you from voting for the opposing party?

Since you asked.

Action on climate change. The other party can't even recognize that its real and it is happening and the time to do something about it is now.

Economic equality. I worry that the other party is dedicated to making certain that the inequality becomes an insurmountable divide no one can cross.

Common sense gun reform. The other party is dedicated to having military grade weapons sold widely and blindly.

Corruption and abuse of office. The other party likes to throw around the phrase "drain the swamp" as a campaign slogan, but installs the biggest most corrupt of swamp monsters into positions of power.

Decent and humane immigration reform. The other party demagogues about MS13 and caravans, and thinks locking up kids in cages is a good idea. I can't vote for locking up kids in cages. I just can't. That's not the America I live in.

Voter suppression. The other party has a strategy to restrict the ability of people to play a part in the democracy that is their right to participate in.

Action on the student debt problem. The other party's idea on acting on it is laughing about millennials and avocado toast and using the phrase "boot straps" to belittle the whole problem as a joke.

Medicare for all. The other party idea is repeal the ACA leaving a lot of Americans in the lurch without healthcare while moaning about the cost of Medicare for all while giving rich people tax breaks to the tune of a deficit of 2 billion dollars.

Money in politics. This is my number one issue as a voter. I hate the influence of big money donors from the Koch brothers and Mercers and I hate the influence of Soros and Bloomberg on my own party. I hate the influence of corporate pacs and lobbyists and "think tanks". The democrats like Hillary and Obama and Pelosi and Schumer serve their donors interests not the voters but the other party is built to kneel and grovel and serve their donors rather than their constituents twice as much more IMO.

If a republican eschewed corprorate donations to their campaigns and relied solely on small dollar donations from actual voters like Bernie or AOC do I'd consider voting for them. As it stands if they take the knee and kiss the Koch brother's ass or the Mercers or big Pharma or the NRA's I have no interest in voting for them.

Did you see Pelosi on the news tonight telling her listeners, "you have to remember these three things" while holding up two fingers? And Trump needs an intervention?:rolleyes:

That's a decent list right there.

But still licks Hillary's... I mean Bill's balls to this day.

Irony there zippo, irony.

This is funny because those who vote a strict party line ticket DO NOT DECIDE ELECTIONS.

Those in the middle, who are willing to vote independent of party rhetoric are the ones who decide who gets elected.

I never vote for a particular party, or cast a vote for a single issue. With me it's weighing all the issues presented by all the candidates and voting for the one who best represents the solutions that I agree with to more issues then their opponents. I hold views from both sides of the imaginary and divisive political dividing line, as do a lot of Americans.

I never said those voting straight party line decide elections. I vote straight party line as do a great many people, enough so to have our voice heard. One person, one vote. My vote still counts towards the election results nonetheless.
