It seems obvious to me that both political parties are incapable of honesty and serving the public with anything close to competence and ethics. So what makes you buy the BS and dismal performance of your party?

Lesser of two evils. Democrats may not be perfect, but they are closer to my political thought pattern then Republicans, and my family would throw a bitch fit if I registered independent. No party is going to fit in with your ideology perfectly. You kind of have to weigh your options and take the one that most closely matches how you perceive the world, and the one that is working towards the goals that are the most similar to your own.

How are things under that rock?

The GOP county commission here paid a major corporation 26 million to move 5 miles from Tampa, here. No new jobs were created but the GOP pols are still running victory laps for all the jobs they snagged. Total BS.

There's a well crafted and intelligent argument.

Have you been watching FAUX NEWS????

See what I did there? Instead of "Fox", I said "FAUX" because I don't agree with their message. Clever, isn't it?

Damn it, I thought the "news" was the joke!

Anyone notice how many black faces there are at the Democrat convention?

Blacks, fags, unions, Jews, and trial lawyers. Thats the Democrats

So basically the Democratic convention is diverse like America.

Their diversity is gonna rip them apart.

What Democrats have in common is their victim status...blacks, Jews, Gays, et al. But Obama today had to amend the platform, returning God and Jerusalem to the text. The perfessers were dancing in the aisles but the blacks are Christians, and the Jews support Israel, and the funny business got fixed PDQ. Blacks are not happy about same sex marriage, either.

What the Democrats are is the Whig Party before it came unglued.

Blacks are not happy about same sex marriage, either.

Along with the Druge-based fiction that Bill Clinton clashes with Obama, this is one of the most overwrought bits of conservative commentary out there. Polls show that blacks support gay marriage about as much as the general population does and that they're moving to support it at a rapid rate.
Poll: Majority Of Blacks Support Gay Marriage After Obama's Endorsement

The expected backlash among blacks to President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage has yet to materialize. And a new Washington Post-ABC survey suggests that black opinion is very quickly moving the other way, with a majority of African Americans now saying they support same-sex marriage.

Fifty-nine percent of blacks now say they support same-sex marriage, an 18-point jump since the president's announcement of his own support two weeks ago. Fifty-three percent of Americans now believe that same-sex marriage should be legalized, which also marks a substantial spike since 2006, when just 39 percent of those polled thought it should be legalized.

You forgot the Mexicans.

Ken Salazar did make a pretty impressive speech last night at the DNC. (Called himself a "14th-generation Mexican-American," meaning his family has been living in Colorado and NM since they were Mexican territory.)

You mean *gasp* black folk have opinions that vary to the same degree as other races? SHOCKING!

Well, except with respect to this election. Romney is polling zero among AAs. (Herman Cain on The Daily Show last week called himself "the margin of error." But I ain't buyin' it -- when he's in the booth, he'll vote for Obama. ;) )
