I submitted a deletion request on 10/4 and it's still stuck in pending. I need this story deleted as I plan to release the novel on Kindle Unlimited and I can't do that while the story is available here. Those are per Amazon guidelines. I can understand why a post would take 2-4 days to approve, but why is a deletion taking so long? This is now going to cost me money if I can't release the book on time. I have a festival scheduled for me to promote the book next weekend and right now I'm afraid to even list it as a preorder because I'm worried I won't be able to fulfill the promises. What is going on?

Short answer: the staff are busy because of a botched (to be unkind) upgrade of the site's software.
Why does it need approval? I don't actually know, TBH. Now I'm curious.
