Deleting comments by readers

Yeah, but it's nothing like the charge they get out of checking back, seeing that their comment is still there, rereading it and congratulating themselves on how devastatingly they took you down.

I don't think they get any info about who deleted the comment, whether it was the author or if somebody else reported it.

I really don't think they notice, it's been a very rare occurrence that someone noticed a response I put out on a comment. I've deleted a few comments with no response. On the other hand, they were all anonymous comments.
 
I generally get notice when comments go up, so I probably delete it before they have a chance to see it up. In any case, whether it plays to their aims or not, my lawn looks better and that's enough.
