Delayed nipple response

Okay, here's a really weird one. The nerves in my nipples seem delayed. Poking them with a pointy object, I feel nothing for half a second, then suddenly feel it. The skin right next to them has normal immediate response. Just the nipples and areolas are delayed by what seems to be a full half a second.

I'm not really worried, but it seems so weird I wanted to see if it happens with anyone else. If not, I'll bring it up with my doctor tomorrow in case it could be a neurological problem (which could explain why they're not the least bit erogenously sensitive).

I seem to have a bit of delay in sensation too, although I never thought about it, really, that's just how they are.

Although my nipples to get hard with arousal, I don't find it particularly arousing to do anything with them. Any kind of nipple play is really for someone else's benefit if I do it/participate in it. And hey, sex isn't always just for my benefit.

I've also heard some people aren't sensitive to their own stimulation, only another's. Any thoughts there? I wouldn't mind thinking about someone else's benefit if I weren't hopelessly alone...

I talked to my doctor, and he said he'd never heard of such a thing, but it's not cause for alarm. So, the mystery remains.

I'm much more sensitive to my lover stimulating my nipples than I am to my own touch - it still feels nice but nowhere as arousing. It's almost a bit like not being able to really tickle yourself.

The delay could be if you are squeezing, pinching or tweaking - the return of blood flow to the nipple maybe a stronger sensation than the actual squeeze, pink or tweak?
