was talkin to a friend last night and she said - - -

"the moment she slipped a cuff around my wrist for the first time and i heard that metal click, and i felt it like lightening throughout my entire body, i just knew.........

that sentence rattled me. She knew in that moment she had a thing for bondage.

Heres one of my defining moments - - -

The day a dropped a pc base unit and the cover fell off and i got to see what it looks like on the inside is the day i knew i wanted to fix pcs. Still today i prefer to work with hardware rather than with software.

In reality, that defining moment came when I was 15. In the abstact, much earlier.

In high school, I was selected for the National Honor Society. (Whoopee ding dong, I know.) Problem was, a black girl with a better GPA was not. I didn't know her well at all. We weren't friends. But it really pissed me off. I declined the nomination. Told 'em to shove it, basically. If that's how they were gonna "honor" achievement, then I wanted no part of it.

They forbade my attendance at the award ceremony, making me stay in the cafeteria with all the other reprobates whose behavior was responsible for their segregation from the rest of the student body.

I was informed that my name would not be included when the nominees were inducted. Fine.

Funny thing happened, though. From my seat in the cafeteria ... waaaaaaaaay down the hall from the gymnasium where the assembly was being held ... I heard chanting. It was my name ... then the other girls' name ... then my name.

I knew then that my role in life was advocacy. I had no idea then, of course, how much it'd be needed on a personal level.

It is difficult for some, without having their shoulders dislocated. Stretching and yoga helps.

Sittin gin my mother's classroom, listening to a tape of Bach's brandenburg concertos, and one of the other teachers came in.

Teacher: "When will your Mom be back?"
