Okay, let's be honest, this is probably one of those you know it when you see it (or feel it, rather) kind of things. However I did have a short conversation about this once and I kinda want to expand on it.
How do you know you're horny? Are there levels to it?
Me for example there's three levels. Most common is neutral horny where I'm always just kinda down for sex or sexual activities with the right person or persons. That's kinda my everyday and I don't know if it counts as horny because if so I'm always horny, but that doesn't sound right.
Another level is not as common but can last extended periods. Where I am definitely not horny, usually due to me being unhappy with my sexual partner. It shuts down my sex drive to the point I can go months without masturbating without the thought crossing my mind.
And finally, an extreme horny feeling where sexual activity becomes more a need than a want. Usually happens when I get over sex drive shut down or if I'm ovulating.
Further curiosities, is horny an emotion or a state of being? Like feeling happy vs being thirsty.
