"You can help yourself to the sheets I assume. Just don't get caught in there." He then laughed loudly again, a genuinely infectious laugh that fit his size and changed his whole demanor for a moment. He suddenly realised what he was doing and wondered why he had so easily slipped into the 'real' him. "I don't think Garen is anyones first pick when it comes to men." He grinned, "But then neither am I." He was back to his gruff self.
"Just between you and me miss. It's obvious you've not been part of an organized ring. I don't know why you're here but you have alot to learn and you had better learn it quickly." With that he turned and was out the door before she could offer another thought or question. He slammed his own door loudly and threw himself on to the bed, his hands flying to his face as he let out a deep breath. "Well you've done it now John." He muttered out loud. John being his real name.
Why was he so kind? It had nearly blown his cover once or twice before but he had never gone this far. Sure she was good looking, those legs...and the way anything she wore hugged her curves in all the right place...he shook his head. Get over it. Don't lose your life, heck even your job, all for the sake of lust. But it wasn't lust and he knew that. If it was lust he could have taken her, could have talked her into some action even tonight.
He turned over in his bed then pushed himself back to his feet. He walked over to the mirror and stripped off his jacket before slowly unbuttoning his shirt. He eyes his skin, so many scars and knocks since he had joined the Bureau. He was no longer a pretty sight even if he kept in shape. The stress of his current job often knotted his muscles and aggravated his neck. He had pinched a nerve there just a few weeks ago and kept trying to loosen it up.
He sighed, stripping down to his boxers before throwing himself onto the bed. A bed, a mirror and a wardrobe. There was nothing else to this room. He ran through a mental check list. Tomorrow was the drop day. He had to get the papers from his house in town, list off any new material and drop it off. He would mention Maddie, the Bureau could then call the shots on what he was to do with her. It'd be a week before he received any reply. Being in deep cover meant he had a little more freedom to run with his guts and instincts.
Then his eyes were firmly closed and he was asleep.
