Decadents and Dropouts IC

Relic

Phyliss had arrived just in time to spoil the plan. Initially Relic had hoped to lure the Barbarian away from the light and eyes of all the people. To slay him, or poison him and then take all his gold later. But now the situation was more complicated. Taking some rolled up leaves out of her pocket, she started to chew on them. Her eyes watering a little as the smell filled her nose. Stepping up beside Haerdon, Relic held out her hand from him to take. Offering to stand with him, against her 'friends'. "Take the chance to leave, she isn't worth dying for. And she has two men willing to die for her. Do you have men to help you in this fight? For the same price, I would. But even I cannot help against the half dragon. Later perhaps you'll get a chance, but come with me, and you can enjoy another night and think on this."

Pulling a vial out of her pocket, she threw it down onto the ground at the groups feet. Before clamping her hand over Haerdon's mouth and nose. It sparked brightly, and with her eyes close she opened them to see many blinking to clear their vision.

If he took her hand, she would lead him away...whilst the tavern itself wrestled with the powerful agent that quickly reacted with the air and spread around those near it. For some it would cause them to become disorientated, stumble about and fall over. Humans mainly. Others would have the colour spectrum begin to blurr, and their vision fail until blackness took their sight. Those with good eyesight, night vision or those who could see in low light would be among these. Some may even become ill. Mainly the sensitive, or people with a good smell and taste.

The gas was bluish, and cloudy, and soon filled the entire tavern so that nobody could see more than a few feet in front of them. Having prepared herself, with the leaves that acted as a blocking agent. She simply had to navigate the smoke, and could ignore the side effects.

((Not sure why I posted this, figured what the hell.))

The Narrator - Haerdon

Haerdon hadn't suspected this, but he took the chance and the hand of the drow. Probably she wanted to be paid out for this help, allright, he had some money, and even more back at his new estate. And if she got to greedy...he had killed drow before. And his chances were better then with the gordon bitch and her stupid friends.

Phyliss Ovida

"Uhgghhhh...." Phyliss put a hand before her mouth, but she inhaled some of the stuff accidently. There was a fire of exploding lights, like the shows that she had seen, performed by mages in the mansions where she stayed as guest. Or rather like those visions she had after being drugged on one of those parties. She tumbled, and had trouble to orientate herself. This was not a magic attack, or her shield had worked. Only a moment later she realized her healing spell, and everything stood firm again. Shouldn't Tronfurs spell... No. This wasn't an attack aimed directly at her. It was just creating a poisoned enviroment. She looked around what had happened meanwhile.

The Narrator - Brigita Burdogh

"Shhh..." said Brigita to her servant as she sneaked through the hall of the tavern. Sneaking looked very bizarre in he case. She looked much older then her 50 years, and she was fat - not just chubby, but really very fat, just like her dogs did. She kept them on her houseboat, and today she would have a new one. Her servant opened the door silently, and she moved im after him. "Oh look! The mean, evil lizard tied the poor girl up! I bet he hadn't feed her, and forgot the water as well. But don't worry, dear girl. That is over now." The fat, blonde woman bowed down to Koetia, having tears in hger watery, blue eyes. Brigita was not evil, nor really criminal. She just felt terribly sorry for each neclected dog, or rather each dog she thought to be neclected. And the dog-girl hybrid with that ugly, little kobald caught her eye at once. Her servant, a strong, sturdy human, picked Koetia up and carried her out of the room. Brigita had already paid for her room, and now she left the tavern with her servant and Koetia and headed down to the docks, where her houseboat was lying. They would set sails in the next morning. Sureley the kobald wouldn't find them, if he tried at all.

Relic

Pulling him out through one of the back entrances, Relic quickly found moving easier as the smoke had not escaped outside with them yet. Removing her hand from his mouth and nose, she could sense he was close to gasping for breath. But she didn't need him to be disorientated. "Come on."

He might still have blurred or watery vision from the bright light, so she firmly held his hand. Leading him out around the tavern and into the stables several blocks away. She had her horse there, and the one Alex had paid for. Having been stabled for the week.

"Take that black mare, it belongs to my friend. He will not report it missing."

Climbing up onto her geldings bare back, she didn't bother putting tack on. It would have taken too long. And with a swift kick, she galloped away down the streets. Leaving the town, and her 'friends' behind.

They could ask later why. For now, she wanted to get some pay for spending so much time idle with them. Gryph was protecting his gold, and the others were not rich enough to bother with. Zaeel had coin, but since he and Zahn were the same person, she didn't feel like ruining her investigations. So this man -who as of yet shouldn't know who she was, even if by description she knew who he was- who spouted payment, was her best source of income.

"Do you have a place?" she called out once out of the town. The wind blowing her hood back off her face, to reveal the long silver hair with purple streaks to it.

((Should give you guys a reprieve. If you don't mind me taking care of him for a while. Should Relic kill him if she gets the chance? Or would that ruin future story points?))

Gryph

The gas was upon him before he could react and first he saw the colors of the room change, then the nausea hit him. Stumbling for what was the general direction of the door, he bumped into two figures, he grabbed hold of them and dragged them along with him, the cool night air was a blessing and he let go of the persons he had drawn after him, he coughed something fierce and without warning a spout of flame flew from his mouth. He groaned as the nausea came and went through the coughing fits, the earth seemed very unstable and he could swear that he heard a horse or even more galloping away. That darned drow, next time he will...his stomach decided to evacuate itself and all thoughts was lost for the time being. He blinked, his vision so distorted he had no idea where he was, he spat out some of the remaining bile and looked around what seemed to be a nightmare landscape,

"Phyliss?"

Phyliss Ovida

Phyliss saw that the traitor bitch and Haerdon were gone. Everybody else but Gryph and Tronfur was down, and Gryph was just heading out of the door, while he pulled two humans outside - maybe thinking it was her and Tronfur. Tronfur went out with her, she couldn't tell yet how bad he was affected. Phyliss just saw Skandölf crouching on the floor, and she pulled him along. Now that she had a sailor, she would not let him go. Outside, she looked if she would see Mad Dog or the traitors, but she heard Gryph ask for her; he seemed to be affected by the gas as well. "I am here!" she called, and quickly hugged him, while she kept the surrounding in the eye. The sun was even shining down in this dark alley by now.

The Narrator - Haerdon

Haerdon got on the horse at once. He would find out later, why she helped him. If she was just looking to get done by a real man, he would be granteful enough to give that for free. If she wanted from his gold, which was most likely, she would have to help him further in his revenge. He wondered if they should get back to his new estate. But it was to far off, and he would lose the track.
"There is a dwelling in the city. The owner ows me something. We can hide there, for first."

The Narrator - Brigita Burdogh

The fat, blond woman and her muscular servant reached her large houseboat in the docks. She could hear some of her dogs barking. One of them trotted to great her, his belly hanging down, but still able to walk. She wouldn't let the doggies starve. There is your new home, darling... You haven't got a name yet, do you? I call you..snugglybudgie. No, to long. You are..snubdgie!" The servant put Koetia, now called snubdgie, on board.

Trunfor

The gas from the traitors had an immediate affect on the patrons, but he wasn`t sure how it had affeted Phyliss or Gryph.

The gas caused Trunfor to go weak as his senses were dulled. He couldn`t think straight and, worst of all, his vision became blurred, like a person after having WAY too many bottles of ale. He stumbled around and managed to get outside.

The fresh air helped to clear his vision, but he was still weak.

Relic

It would have to do. For now, she just thought about her next move. Did he know who she was yet? Had the others indicated they knew her? Beyond the few glances one would show a stranger when confused about something. Maybe he didn't. She would have to be cautious either way. But this was what she did well, fitting into a persona, acting it out. Almost as well as she killed.

"It will do for now, take the lead. We'll discuss how to extract the gorgon later."

Her breath sounded forced, as if she was tired. But as she pulled up alongside him and then slowed up to let him lead. She wasn't fatigued at all, but the slight frown on her face might confuse him to think she covered her inexperience as best she could. She wanted to appear frazzled by the situation. Her new persona was a whore after all, not a well trained assassin.

She was lustful, seductive, and interested in the coin. A common trait she showed through most of her alias'. Although this time, she didn't know how to fight, only how to ride enough to stay on the horses back. And as she went up over a small rise, she let the change in the horses gait throw her weight around. A sign of a not so experienced rider.

She was yet to give her name, or describe what she did in detail. But it was obvious she would do almost anything for coin. So that would be what she went after.

"It's a pity you aren't after Morintha...it would help me out more than this other gorgon you want."

Trunfor

Trunfor looked around for Phyliss and Gryph along with his other companions. He didn`t really understand what had just happened, but he knew this. The citizens would think that he had caused the attack and they`d all be forming a riot.

He was the most obvious target. Phyliss could easily pass for a human woman and Gryph could pass as an overly large human. He however had no such luxury, his wings were the major reason and not to mention that his robes that covered him had accidentally fallen off while he had been stumbling about in the gas.

Trunfor needed to act quickly before the patrons woke up and began seeking vengence. Suddenly he remembered the amulet that he had recieved. Trunfor was hesitant to put it on, but it was better than facing and angry mob. Trunfor grabed the amulet, put it around his neck, and said the words, then waited to see what happen.

Mad Dog

Having completed what he had set out to do, Mad Dog had stepped into a carriage that pulled up outside the tavern. A cloaked drow sitting high up the front, whipping the horses to move forwards out of the town. They had a meeting in the city, but just as they reached the outskirts and entered into the forest, Mad Dog felt something. In his pocket, a stone shone brightly. And as he picked it up, his mind was transfered into Trunfors, allowing him access to what Trunfor could see and feel. And perhaps even speak as his subconscious.

Of course this odd feeling Trunfor might feel could be simply a side effect of changing his appearance.

He saw that something had happened, a disturbance.

Interesting.

Gryph

He slowly got to his feet and looked about, he could swear that Phyliss now looked like a gorgon with red eyes and green snakes for hair, but it seems like the drug was affecting him the worst of them all.

"I need to get away from here, I feel like a team of horses ran over me."

He coughed, trying to clear his lungs,

"I can't see properly, maybe you can lead the way Phyliss?"

-Z-

The paperwork had been signed. The official owner of the boat, in the guild records at least, was Zaeel kal'Zaroshi. Since the boat was not going to be doing official trading between towns, or anything official for that matter, the paperwork didn't really matter once the boat was out of town.

It was hard for Z to hand over that much coin in one simple move. But he would find a way to fill his coin pouch again. It wasn't like he needed to save up for anything. If he hadn't spent it here it would likely have been stolen or wasted on something ridiculous. He felt good that he managed to buy something practical for once. Even if he wouldn't be using it.

"So...you have enough left over to buy a lusty lass a drink?" Macaroy gave Zahn a bawdy wink and a squeeze of her breast before busting out in to laughter. "Ah, sorry, Zahn. I don't know if its because your whole "mysterious stranger" routine is actually working on me or if I smoked the wrong leaves, but I got a good feeling about you."

Zahn gave a half smile and took another whiff of the room. He wasn't sure what she would consider the wrong leaves, but he was safe in attributing most of her behavior to whatever she had in that pipe.

"Oh I think I can manage a few drinks or...something. I need to resolve the situation with this boat first, though. It shouldn't take more than an hour. Think you can wait?"

Macaroy leaned back in her chair and put her feet up on her desk. "No promises. Your friends have everything they need for their new boat?"

Zahn got up from his chair and chuckled. "Oh I'm sure they're doing fine."

Phyliss Ovida

Phyliss worked a healing spell on Gryph, as she saw how affected her huge friend was. She looked over to Tronfur and saw him transforming into a handsome human. "Wow, not bad, Tronfur. But still I am a little worried about Mad Dogs gift. Take care for any side effects." She thought a moment if it was wise to tell Skandölf their location, but what harm could it be. They coudn't really hide anywhere for long. She handed him some of the change she got from buying the crossbow.
"Here, we will see you in the evening and youwill bring us a second sailor. You come to our tavern, I'll give you the location. You wont dissapoint me, will you?"
"Course not." said Skandölf and trotted away.
Phyliss turned back to her friends. I guess we pack our things and set sail as soon as Zahl gets us our boat. Relic and Haerdon have probably gotten away, but I don't wnt to wait for any more evil tricks of her. Verialyn should have listened to me, I knew she wasn't good from the beginning."

The Narrator - Haerdon

Haerdon reached the destination, a shabby, tiny shed in the outskirts. An old man opened, he looked like an old worker from the forges, who was close to the end. He greeted Haerdon silently.
"Me and my wench have to stay here for some days. I know you wont speakt to anybod about that." the old man didn't reply, but that was enough answer for Haerdon. He tied up the horses and set down on a kind of bench in front of the shed.
"Good we brought some food with us. He will get a share." he handed the old man a piece of bread, and waited until he dissapeared.
"Now for the gorgon. To of them? Very strange, Phyliss was the first one I ever met in public, and the first one I heard of to survive in public that long. And I want her, not the other. I have to take my revenge on her."

Gryph

He could feel the magic seep through him, his natural resistance, fighting it, but gradually giving in as it was not malicious. His sight started to clear gradually and he looked about them,

"She is a drow, she is most probably seeing this as fun and a way to turn a profit. In their own way they are like children who doesn't realize the effect of their pranks."

He rubbed his eyes and noticed that though the landscape was clearing into more defined lines, the colors still was all wrong, he clicked his tongue,

"I want some of that potion she used, it's potent on dragons."

Phyliss Ovida

"If we ever meet here again, she will have to use it. I think it is not magic but a poison. If it were a magic attack it should have been blocked by my shield. So you better put a wet cloth around your face the next time. And I knew, she hated me right from the beginning, but I was stupid enough to give her a chance. Maybe because Verialyn did and she was the only female friend I ever had... Oh no. The horse again. But this time I hadn't forgot it. It was not there, when we left. If it hadn't escaped, it was probably stolen by Relic and Haerdon. Or even Mad Dog? Although i doubt that." They came closer to the tavern.

Relic

When they arrived, Relic almost fell from the saddle, landing on her feet with sudden weight. As though not used to riding like that, and without a saddle to boot. Groaning, she passed him the reins so he could tie them up. Taking the chance to add to the disguise by walking away rubbing the inside of her thighs. "I never liked horseback riding, prefer the carriage or wagon personally. Bare back is worse than working ten hours a day, every day of the week, nothing makes the thighs this sore."

Finding a pole to stretch her back out against, she smiled as he turned the conversation back to the gorgon.

"I hear its her 'abilities' that kept the other gorgon unharmed, and some coin in the right pockets around town. Not natural for a woman to be able to stretch in that way. But if it's the new one you want, since I'm already implicated I'll do my part for the 100 gold pieces. That was the deal right?"

Cracking her back, she unbuckled her belt. Letting the daggers she carried fall to the ground rather unceremonially. Inside she almost grimaced, never did she enjoy people mistreating their weapons. At least the leather sheaths would protect them. And she removed her cape and hood. Showing off the leather pants and corset she wore, and the purple loose shirt underneath it. Crouching down, she slid to the ground, her knees falling out to the side as she sat like a child might. Soles of her feet touching each other.

"So, what do you need me to do? Bait...contacts...distraction?"

The Narrator - Haerdon

Haerdon took a drink and burped. He could behave better, if he wanted to, but he didn't see Relic as a lady so he would not treat her as one. She was more of the type of the usual women they had around, doing housework, getting laid without complain and sometimes fight as well, if necessary.
"I will have you for pleasure, though you are a bit skinny, but that will do. For the gorgon - my gorgon - I need her alive. I know she is quite flexible and has great abilities as well, although she is very resistant in sharing them. I nearly had to break her neck and still I was forced to tie her up and hang her down the ceiling to give her what she deserved. But that was nothing for the things she will get when I have her again. I pay 100 pieces of gold, if you get her for me. But before that, we will have to get rid of the two monsters guarding her. You will sneak at them. It will be best to surprise them in sleep. I kill the halfdragon, you can kill the the other one. Then we go for the gorgon. You distract her, and I put a large sack over her. This will protect us from her eyes and snakes, and you can tie her up while I hold her."

Phyliss Ovida

Phyliss was glad that she didn't buy the a saddle, as she had planned in the morning. But she should have bought a second crossbow, and keep them both loaded, so that she could use them next time. A bolt for Haerdon and one for Relic. She wouldn't miss. The one for Haerdon right into his bladder, and the one for Relic... well. Why had she accepted Relic, even nearly enjoyed to see her? Maybe because of Verialyn. It was true that she never had a female friend before the vampire. The human woman hated her, and the elfish ones not less. She had even hoped that Relic could develop into a friend, some other female she could talk to and share her sorrows and thoughts that the men would not understand. Blast it.
As they reached the tavern, she stormed up the chairs, but she found Canut gone. His room was empty as well. The landlord had the key, but had no information wher ethe kobald went and what for. Damn Koetia, it was her falut, for sure. She moved back to see her only two friends left, Gryph and Tronfur.

Trunfor Blackheart

Trunfor followed Phyliss and Gryph back to the Inn where the they had left the kobald. He wasn`t very surprised to learn that he was gone. So far, all that had happened recently was betrayal and deceit.

Trunfor noticed something odd... something like a presence in his subconcieous. Maybe it was just another side effect of the gas enchantment. He still also felt weak and sluggish from the enchantment but he was slowly regaining strength.

He looked around at Phyliss and Gryph, his only remaining friends. They were the only ones felt that he could trust.

-Z-

Finding information on Phyliss, Trunfor and Gryph was easier than he thought. They apparently were part of a scuffle in another tavern. Z didn't waste his time probing for facts, he just needed to know where they went. A few people were more than willing to tell him that some female drow and a big guy got in to a stand off with a demon, a woman, and an even bigger guy. The information was conflicting, but they all agreed that the drow used a smoke bomb. The smoke was pale blue and hazy by their descriptions, which brought a few recipes to Z's mind. He could narrow it down to two possibilities with the limited information, and neither posed a major threat. Of course he couldn't be sure what side effects it all could have on magical beings, or even if it was one of the recipes he was thinking of. Drow are notorious for their "additions" to alchemical items.

Z was having better luck tracking Phyliss and her friends around by asking for information about Gryph. No one had seen a kobold, and Trunfor and Phyliss probably had ways of disguising themselves as they walked around. But there was no easy way to hide a mountain of a man like Gryph.

The trail led him right back to the where he met them. Someone had seen them go inside not 5 minutes before. Z really didn't want to come back here, especially not as Zahn, but he didn't have a choice.

Phyliss and Gryph were standing in the common room of the tavern. There was another man with them, wearing Trunfor's clothes and a shiny amulet. Z was glad to see Trunfor had a way of blending in better, he just wondered why the cambion hadn't worn it earlier. It wasn't important, though, so Z didn't dwell on it.

Approaching Phyliss, Zahn kept his face neutral and emotionless. "Mister Zaeel wants me to let you know that your boat has been acquired. Everything is legal and on record with the local sailor's guild."

Zahn handed Phyliss the official paperwork for the boat. The two rolled up parchments contained the information on the type of vessel, the physical dimensions of the boat, and the legal information about it being passed from its former owner, to the guild, and then to Zaeel. It was also a receipt that showed 3000 gold had been paid in full to the guild.

Relic

Laughing, Relic leaned her head back against the pole and watched him as he discussed the plan. No, not discussed, explained. Tilting her head to the side once he had finished she grinned, before lowering her eyes to pick at her fingernails. As if annoyed by the grime that was under them.

"I'll do my part. Although its still a dangerous plan. Just the two of us to fight the two men? I can hold my own against clients and petty criminals...but they looked a little more skilled than that. Don't you have any other backup we could use? The gorgon could be a better fighter than you know, able to take one of us out whilst we are slaying the others."

Shaking her hands, she gave up on cleaning out her fingernails and rose from her spot on the ground. Dusting her pants off before strolling over. Leaning down, she quickly slipped into a kneeling position in his lap. One hand on each of his shoulders. "But for the price offered, the pleasing will be my pleasure."

Leaning in, she licked his neck slowly. Working up towards his jaw line, before gently biting down just below his ear. Her sharp teeth easily causing pain needed little pressure to be felt. She opened his shirt slightly, exposing more for her to nibble and kiss at.

"Would you prefer me to wash up first? If there is somewhere...more private."
