I can see what made you jump to the conclusion you did...but that doesn't mean I appreciate it.
I try not to ever make assumptions of others intentions b/c I'm usually wrong. I guess that there are times when it's the easiest thing to do tho. Had I even thought that you would've jumped to that conclusion I wouldn't have made mention of it. While it initially did bother me, I'm letting it go b/c your assumption was unfounded.
If having my own opinion makes me a bitch in your eyes, so be it - and for the record I only ever heard good things about you from others, so tell me was I wrong to have believed them - is it my fault for allowing the opinion of other people to influence my own opinion of you...perhaps

I can feel another sleepless night ahead and, unfortunately, you're on my mind. It's not because I'm missing you. It's because just now, a few days ago ... months and months after the fact ... I was finally able to acknowledge the fact that you existed in my life. I was finally able to stop pretending like it didn't matter. You were a friend. Or so I thought. You knew how difficult it was for me to open up and trust ... but, really, I'm not going to rehash all that.
I'm writing because ... today I finally realized that you walking away from our friendship was a good thing. For me. I still think it could've been handled with more respect, but what's done is done. I've also come to realize that I can't blame you for the people I've chased away after. I should have been smart enough not to let ghosts of the past dictate my actions. That's on me, not you.
The hurt still remains. I suspect it will never entirely go away, but know this: I don't hate you. And I really do wish you well.

Several years later, Coca-Cola attempted to acquire Dr Pepper, but was blocked from doing so by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Around the same time, Seven Up was acquired from Phillip Morris by the same investment company that bailed out Dr Pepper. Upon the failure of the Coca-Cola merger, Dr Pepper and Seven Up merged (creating Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc., or DPSU), giving up international branding rights in the process. After the DPSU merger, Coca-Cola obtained most non-U.S. rights to the Dr Pepper name but, did not fully take the product.
