just heard a news blurb on how common hearing loss is, yet don't recall ever seeing a Lit story about deaf sex.

Thoughts?

Two roommates in college, one thinks the other won't notice (because of deafness) when someone is snuck into the room for sex. The roommate, of course, wakes up and catches them in the middle, and...?

Ohhh could you imagine how erotically romantic a person could make a love story if they did it right. --- edited to add... okay... not overly romantic, but it was fun to write. :) Short too... lol:p

Not quite what your looking for but I can tell you a funny story about deafness from about 20 years ago when I was younger and fairly new in the offie in which I worked.

One of the more senior accountants was deaf, wore two hearing aids.

I was standing in the corridor talking to one of the older - much primmer secretaries - when Gordon stopped and joined in the conversation. Mid way through he let rip with quite a loud fart - you try maintaining a serious conversation when that happens without grinning ever so slightly !! - but continued talking as if nothing had happened.

Anyways he finished what he stopped to say and moved off back to his office leaving myself and the secretary looking in astonishment at each other.

She said to me did he just do what I thought he did ? I burst out laughing at that point and confirmed she wasn't hearing things. She asked how he could do that and keep a straight face, I reminded her he was deaf and probably didn't realise the noise he'd made. She said but surely he feels his back side vibrate, that coming from one of the most prim women I'd ever know just made me corpse all the more.....any way like I said not what you were looking for but it made me smile way back then ;-)

I figure eventually the trials and tribulations of it all will work themselves in or why they are death... But then again... I haven't a clue where it will go, I write what I feel and go from there. I appreciate you looking at it. :)

5 senses minus 1

I have heard that when one sense is lost the others become more sensitive in order to compensate. Of course I have also noticed that when someone has lost the sixth sense (common sense) this is not necessarily true (LOL).

Smell, touch, taste, and sight are all more definitive. Having a deaf person listen to a roommate's romantic encounter, or his/her own, would be interesting.

The last two for this couple. Thanks for the story idea on writing a deaf couple I had fun doing it and learned a lot too. :D

Loving in Silence: Sisters' Sin
Loving in Silence: Family Reunion

If you want to read them in order....

Loving in Silence
Loving in Silence: Wet Agreement
Loving in Silence: The Ride Home
Loving in Silence: Sisters' Sin
Loving in Silence: Family Reunion

Thanks again for the Story Idea. :D
