And, I haven't killed anyone. I haven't ripped out my hair strand for strand. (this is my 3rd time quitting, let's hope what they say about 3rd time being a charm is true). Truthfully, I'm really motivated to quit this time around. Both for myself and my son.
OK, I admit I am masturbating more than normal. Truly, masturbation and chocolate are a great cure all.

All and all, life is good right now........

Good for you! I have to quit soon!

Are you using anything besides masturbating and chocolate?? Like the patch, zyban or gum?

Thanks! Just curious! :)

I'd just stick to masturbating if i were you... burn some of those calories that you get from the chocolate

Never worked for me I just read alot but I have found if you just put it out of your mind it's easy.

Lmao! I just quit cold turkey. I made the choice that this time I would quit and for good.
Masturbating and chocolate just increased since I quit. :D

Day 5 and I am feeling less cranky.

I honestly don't think that the gum would cut it, besides I hear it tastes horrible. I have heard good things from people who have used the patch.

Hey Starblayde, good to see you around again hon.:)

Congrats, SummerRose, and good luck. *Firm nods.* And just think. You can have my eternal adoration when you succeed. *Chuckles.* There's that extra oomph of motivation you needed.

Well, if there's ever something that'll make you masturbate more... i'm it :D

I'll remember that if I ever run out of inspiration.;)

Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes.

AzureAngel, Oh to have your eternal adoration. What a motivation.:D

Summery it's tough.

I hope you can keep with it. Remember it's only a physical addiction for 3 weeks. Then it's a hand, breathing thing. You need to find something else to occupy your mouth and hands. I'm not being a perv about that either. It's true. Try holding your breath too, like you're inhaling. That helps sometimes.

I'm proud of you, SummerRose!

It is tough to quit........esp. cold turkey.....my grandmother
who smoked for years did just that, and hasn't picked up
one since the mid-'80s......

My dad has been smoke free for one year this month.....he
was part of a study at Yale Univ. which combined the patch
and a pill (not yet approved by the FDA) to quit smoking....
yes, he gained 10-15 lbs, but he's lost some of the weight
by eating better and exercising more.

Keep up the good fight, and I will have to say that one of
the best things to do when in the "quitting stage" is to
keep busy, such as masturbation ....and other
activities...... :)

Here's to you!

masturbation always makes me want a cigarette..

Keep up the good work Summery.. I'm proud of you

I'm doing ok, except when I am around my friends that smoke. That is when I have the craving the most. I'll just have to settle for second hand smoke.....

Anyone remember those candy cigarettes?

I wonder if they still make them, then I can pretend?:D

they have some here.. the little corner store about a block from my house.. 25 cents a box

want me to bring you a carton? ;) I can be there in a few hours

i know it seems to be getting easier, but i'm going to suggest something to you that really helped me after about the 3rd month. start doing something new, a new hobby of some form. it will seriously help you some in the long run.

when i quit smoking, i quit cold turkey, and i was fine until around the 3rd month (or every time there was a lot of stress involved) and i started running then. it gave me something to do, something to put my mind to instead of inhaling. and its helped. i didnt gain any weight from quitting that way, and i'm a lot healthier now because of it to.

Good for you. Remember your reasons for quitting and keep them as inspiration.

By the way, I got something you can put in your mouth to keep it busy. You can't smoke it, but you can "smoke" it. Offer's on the table.

Take it from me...

Always keep plenty of limes, and salt no hand babe. ;)

Summery,
That's awesome! Some advice?
Try to stay away from smokers and places that have lots of smokers ie bars, clubs, etc. As much as you can anyways, and only for a little bit of time. After 2 weeks, you will feel a change within your lungs.
Good luck!
