A Good Marriage

A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on the beach in Montego Bay , Jamaica . Their domestic tranquillity had long been the talk of the town. "What a peaceful & loving couple."

A local newspaper reporter was inquiring as to the secret of their long and happy marriage.

"Well, it dates back to our honeymoon in America ," explained the man. "We visited the Grand Canyon in Arizona and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by horse. We hadn't gone too far when my wife's horse stumbled and she almost fell off. My wife looked down at the horse and quietly said, "That's once."

We proceeded a little further and the horse stumbled again, this time causing her to drop her water. Once more my wife quietly said, "That's twice."

We hadn't gone a half-mile when the horse stumbled for a third time. My wife quietly removed a revolver from her purse and shot the horse dead.

I shouted at her, "What's wrong with you, Woman! Why did you shoot the poor animal like that? Are you crazy??"

She looked at me, and quietly said, "That's once."

"And from that moment we have lived happily ever after."

I really like love stories so I thought I'd share!

Fresh from her shower, a woman stands in front of the mirror, complaining to her husband that her breasts are too small.

Instead of characteristically telling her it's not so, the husband uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds."

Willing to try anything, the wife fetches a piece of toilet paper, and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts.

"How long will this take?" she asks.

"They'll grow larger over a period of years," he replies.

The wife stopped rubbing and with a puzzled look on her face ask, "Why do you think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts every day will make my breasts grow over the years?"

"Worked for your butt, didn't it?" He replied.

He lived, and with a great deal of therapy, may even walk again.

Good Morning Bear

Make sure you remember to tell us about any fun you have with Dawn and Shawn. ;)

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

When I was a kid I had two political hero types. One was JFK and the other Martin Luther King. There were others but those were the two I talked about around the house. One year my mom got me two parchment type things, one with JFK and a speech of his and a blackened face shot of him(no pun intended here) and another with MLK with his picture and a speech he gave. It might have been the I Have A Dream speech. I still have both of them. She had them framed for me and I kept them in my room.

I remember one time we were driving back home from Florida back in the days when we really didn't have an Interstate system to speak of. Traffic was diverted was diverted because King was leading a march. All kind of cool for a young kid I guess.

So over the years I've read about the two of them and the speeches and watched all the documnetaries I could. Each of them problem had their faults, but each was a man I believed could and did make some kind of difference in life.

This morning I was thinking about Martin and it hit me. Were either of these two men alive today they'd have no impact nor any real relevance. Sad, but I believe true. In this polarized and contentious time we live in where nobody can get along and compromise seems to be out of the question, nobody would give a fuck.

Today, primarily government workers, are off. I know there are programs and parades but I'm not really believing anybody is giving a lot of thought to Martin Luther King. It's just another day off for so many people.

Would he, or either of them, be perplexed in today's world? I'm thinking they would be. Too bad the country has gone in this direction in my opinion and I wish I could say if he were here today it would make a difference-but I can't. Sorry I can't do more Martin.

You know its sad but probably true that if either were alive they wouldn't have had the impact they did....kind of a scary thought....

Well-maybe. I was thinking more in terms of them just getting started today and no one would listen. If MLK for example hadn't been killed in '68 and still been living-maybe he'd have some kind of impact because the whole climate today could potentially be different. We'll never know. Like the AV!
