David Carradine, Breathplay, and Shoelaces

I heard it was a curtain rope, not a shoelace, and that it was tied around his genitals and neck. Either way, it is a sad way for him to have gone if he was just trying to have some fun alone. Hmmm, once again, it backs up what we always advise....do not get into such things without someone around if needed. Oh, and ironically, he was there to film a movie called 'Stretch' of all things.

I've seen it widely said that it was shoelaces tied together. Also his hands were said to be tied, initially without comment, then later it was behind his back. But yes, exactly...where is the disconnect between this particular fetish, and the kink we practice? The fact that people die from this all the time (saw an article that said it's a LOT per year, often teenage/young adult males) indicates that this is somehow apart from the kind of things we do. It's not anything done SSC/RACK...it's dangerous, pure and simple, and I suspect that every time they don't die is a miracle. That David Carradine managed to do it until he was 72 is surprising though...I read that he must have been doing it his whole life and finally made a mistake.

The family suspects foul play, of course. It's hard to accept something like this as the way your loved one died.

Thank you, for the interesting information. I have heard the stories about Mandrake and hanged men but never made the connection. As far as Mr. Carradine's death, very sad.
