I have been chatting to men on line, find it hard to understand why they will not share a picture of themselves but want lots of me fully dressed or in lingerie.

Could be that many of those men are married and afraid for their pictures to get out. Could be they just want to have pics of you to collect and beat off over.

If you're talking same-sex dating, they're still ashamed or in the closet.
If you're talking "traditional" pairings, he's married. (or possibly just a picture collector, but probably married)
