This could really go for Dom(me)s to their subs as well, but I was curious as to what kinds of NON D/s activities you enjoy. How do you enjoy spending time together that is not BDSM related?

Myself and my Mistress we play Cribbage and Backgammon on Yahoo... watch movies together via long distance... we both put movies in and hit play at the same time. We used to play SWG and Second Life together, now we're looking at World of Warcraft on our "date" nights.

Just curious how others do this either long distance or up close and personal

When we are not with each other and are on the phone or IM we listen to the same songs together. We do this very often as we chit chat about life. We surf the net talking about sports, news, kids -- everything.


We we are physically together we don't do much else but have sex and related activities.

Okay, I googled that last one and got (from Wikipedia):

"Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of online role-playing video games (RPGs) in which a large number of players interact with one another in a virtual world."

I confess that I've never played a video game (online or off).

But I think I have a general idea of how it might work - from watching my nephew play something like Halo on Xbox Live with a headset, talking to people from all over the world.

I'm 49 (as in - over your age limit, ITW ). I mention that to explain my video game virginity. I actually remember when Pong first came out!

As for football, my answer is to say: yes and no. I played for 8 years, and love the game itself. But I rarely watch the pros, or even big college games. I played for honor, and my buddies, and my coach. It's hard to see that kind of game on TV, and if it's not my kind of football, then I'm just not interested in watching.

LOL, must be something about being 49!! F and my son have both tried to entice me into that world of online games etc., and they both play WoW, but I am just not wired that way and find it totally boring. I am happy to fetch coffee, give the occasional massage when convenient while he is playing, and listen to all their woes about what is happening and who is misbehaving ina a very sympathetic manner while not really understanding what the heck they are on about!!

We are a married couple so we have perfectly normal lives - well apart from Master having to spend 5 hours on a haemodialysis machine every 2nd day. I am His personal nurse during that time

Yep.

I'm meeting various subs right now, and that usually entails getting coffee, a drink or a meal. As a relationship progresses, I'm still a fan of those things, plus happy hours, walks, exploring new places, nights in, going to our playspace, day hikes, infrequent movies, good festivals, wine-tasting, drives, day trips and a bunch of other activities.

Hubby and I do the same kinds of things for fun and dates, but we need to be better about setting aside more time for dates.

I don't think the online/LD dating deal would work for me, since I'm usually not a big fan of chatting, long phone conversations, talking during movies or computer/video games.

Well we do try, although difficult with children. Usually it involves an overnight at a casino resort.

We try to do date nights. Usually involving the wrong food and some wine and beer and some really nice lighting. To balance the wrong food some, we've also started doing "recess" - when M comes home, instead of crashing and burning, the idea is to run around and play like you did when you came home from school and burn off the pent up whatever instead of being adult and depressive about it.

We like to go out and listen to live music. In fact Friday night my wonderful dom is taking me to my first Opera. I can't wait!!

Lately, we have been consumed with house hunting and pouring through design books. We have gone all over looking at developments, and last weekend he took me to my first home show. It was incredible!

We also like going to dinners with friends or alone; we occasionally go to movies; we are writing a novel together, which is in its final stages; and of course there is always room for Starbucks, where they all know us by name. We are also just as happy to sit at home on our back deck and drink a cup of tea and have a great conversation.
