Dark Temptation... OOC Thread

Yepp I love me some Oz, well Wash, and Lorne too...and I can't go through one episode with the trio in it without rolling on the floor laughing.

:eek:I'm too much like Johnathan for comfort.

anyway I'm looking to Buffy and Angel for inspiration for my Vamps here. All the vamps and demons in those shows had such enthralling quirky characters. I can only hope I acheive half as good character creation.

Admittedly, I was never a Buffy fan. I'm not sure why...*shrugs shyly*

Though, my favourite vampire bad guy has always been Lestat de Lioncourt from 'Interview with the Vampire'. Such a lovable, sadistic bad guy. *giggles softly*

Another of my favorite quotes from Buffy was in the episode with Dracula when Xander said "I'm through being everybody's butt monkey!"

I rented all the seasons one weekend and had myself a marathon...

I think you're doing really well with your vamps. Bowie was really great, and...well, I already gave my opinion of Allejandro *grins*

I loved Lestat in the books. I think though, from the movies, I prefered the actor who played him in 'Queen of the Damned'...he was a bit yummy

*blushes* I preferred the books. There is just something so lovable about Lestat even though he is such a horrible, dangerous thing. I suppose it is because he is at ease knowing what he is, but he is so playful about how he revels in that. I dunno, but he seemed so much darker in the books. But, I wont lie, the only reason I saw the movie was for Brad Pitt. LMAO. Tom Cruise was...meh...but I couldn't bring myself to watch the second movie as it got such bad reviews, plus there was no Brad. :p

*ponders* I wander what John and Allejandro are like...are they a Lestat or a troubled Louis de Pointe du Lac. Hmmmm...:)

Sad to say, shy, but Lestat will be the benchmark of what I don't want to do, because he's too close to the Anne Rice Vampire cliche I've grown tired of also Edward from Twilight I don't want to get near either of them. I suppose with Allejandro I will tease Lestat, but I'm aiming more for Drusilla, Spike, Angelus, or Darla, or if I'm really lucky the Mayor *crosses fingers*

In other words people whom if they weren't vampires would still be interesting characters in their own right.

But hey if any of you guys have any ideas for an off the wall type of character to be used as Vampire...something like the nerd from highschool as a vampire...or the little old lady with the coupons in the express lane of the supermarket as a vampire...don't hesitate to suggest them to me here after all Allejandro needs more minions.

The second movie had a great soundtrack...but it strayed so far from the books as to be mostly unrecognizable. Still, the actor did a much better job of Lestat than TC.

The Mayor was a great character. So fastidious and proper to be so evil. And now I have visions of a little old lady vampire *chuckles* that would be cute in a creepy sort of way.

I think my fav vampires have been Anita Blake (Laurel K Hamilton) books and Christine Feehan books. Maybe you should all check them out. There are some great characters there and even different ideas on vampires.

Great post Ezra!!

*shrieks in horror!* No...not Twilight! I can't stand that pansy, ill written crap. It irritates me beyond what I can comprehend. So I am glad that you are not following in those footsteps. In fact, I thank you greatly! I am also happy you aren't following in Anne Rice's footsteps. While I like her characters and ideas, I too grow bored of playing the same vampire stigma. I always try to find a unique spin to things.

As for ideas for his minions...for me it should be a type that you wouldn't expect. Like a nun or a priest...someone who holds a great aura of innocence, trust and love. But in reality, they are a creature far darker than what the mind can conceive. But, I must admit, I would never expect a child to be a vampire. That would completely throw me off! I wouldn't really see it coming.

Great post Ezra!!

I have the whole Dark series...absolutely love the Carpathians! My daughter is actually reading the Anita Blake series. She stopped reading yesterday and sat staring into space for a minute then made a disgusted sound. I asked what was wrong and she said she suddenly realized that in the book she is on the woman is trying to decide who to be with, the vampire or the werewolf. My daughter despises Twilight and had made a sort of connection. I told her to just be glad the vampires don't sparkle in that series.

And I agree, Ezra...great post!

Tell her to keep going. The vampire and werewolf in Anita are nothing like Twilight.....though I will say this much, Laurel gets a bit carried away and before long her books are 80% sex 20% story....but about "Skin Trade" she comes back to the action again.

And I too love the Carpathians, love the take on them!!

Oh dear... *shakes my head and laughs at myself* She's over 18, but the idea of her reading books with so many sex scenes in them gives me the wiggins.

I would love to do a Carpathian thread, even though I am not really into fan-fic type threads. I just want to be claimed by a Carpathian!

Great post Ezra, as always. You are challenging me. I will try and write something that works.

Ooooh! An older, vegetarian, animal-right activist hippie! I wouldn't expect them to be a vampire either. They are crazy enough on their own at times, but a vegetarian who craves human blood? *giggles*

That's a wicked twist, Shy *clapping my hands with delight* What a tortured creature they could be...

I'm not sure I can make that work, Shy, but that is the off the wall thing I was looking for.

Ok, my post is up. I am VERY nervous about this one. God it was hard to write as I was trying to work with what Ezra had set up in her mind. So, I am not sure if it is clear but the post is taking place within Elysia's mind, with John's presence there and urging her to fight while she battles with giving in. She then wakes up in hospital.

If this isn't clear or is crap, tell me and let me know how I can change it. I am so sorry if it sucks and doesn't make sense, but admittedly, Elysia's mind is such a mess that it is meant to be a little 'here and there'. Ummm...yea. Ok, I look forward to your responses on how I can fix it.

Thanks :)

Shy...ummm.....WOW....I feel so inadequate now LOL

The only thing I saw was "Leola’s chest heaved" I think you meant Elysia :D

That was the only change I could even guess.....the post was absolutely remarkable and now will make me work twice as hard to even come slightly close to the standard you are setting.....wow.....wow......wow!!!

Woops, sorry. I have too many characters I am writing and it seems I got confused. Sorry about that :(

But I am glad it makes sense. I was worried that it wouldn't and would sound choppy and wouldn't be comprehensible. Thank you Wolfie :)

BUT I must say that no one here is inadequate! I am liking this story very much, so thank you to everyone :)

I think these ideas intrigues me. I think I will use them, yes. Hmm

There is no rush or pressure Wolfie. You take your time and enjoy yourself :) *hugs gently*

And yay! I had a good idea, finally! I wonder what Veroe will make of it...hmmm...

*glances at Shy's response and mine....sighs* Well it is up at least.....if anything needs tweaking let me know.

One of these days Shy.....one of these days ;) *grabs you and hugs you tightly*

*fidgets a bit nervously* Well, my friends...here goes. One crazy vampire lady checking in.
