I'm so sorry! This one wasn't on my list! I just got the email from my OOC subscription and realized

Just between trying to clean the house and do it up, packing to move and this class I have to attend and my sisters being in the 11th and 12th grades and going through exam and assignment time, I've been so floored with my RL crap

Trying to keep up here now, I didn't mean to keep you guys waiting so long. It's 6am here and I've been up all night fixing an internet issue with my DNS server and helping my sister with her English assignment!

Thanks, I was kinda edging on that but at the same time making Renee out to be the still more powerful by the state of Mariska's banishment. I hope Shy likes it when she comes back

I liked your idea of her taking over John's apartment now that she is homeless. It looks as if Ezra has had him abandon it. That gave me an idea for adding a small twist that will push her over the edge into going after Elysia, if that is still the plan. Poor Elysia, she has all the psychos after her.

It's because she's the sanest most decent person in the thread, craziness just can't abide the existence of sanity I learned that at where I work either you go crazy with the rest of them or you wind up quitting or getting fired for something crazy.

The saying is true: You don't have to be crazy to work here, they'll train you.

Anyhow I meant strategically against Allejandro.
what I'm thinking: She needs to regroup, collect all the vamps loyal to her that survived and begin trying to find ways to a.) learn where Allejandro is b.) get some bloody vengeance on him for daring to attack her c.) retrieve the kiddo.

Hey guys!

So so so sorry that I have been gone so long. I just wanted to let you guys know that I am here and that I plan to have a post up soon. I am pretty busy with real life for the next few days, but I will try my hardest to get something up ASAP.

Also, I have got word from Ezra. I am not sure but I do not think he will be able to continue this story with us due to his real life. Unless anyone has heard otherwise from him, I am not sure how to continue. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? Because it would kill me to see this story die...

I caught wind of Ezra and RL matters. I honestly don't know about the thread since it was his idea to start with. I would hate for us to fill his position and then him be able to return later on (not really sure if that would happen or not).

I guess it should be a wait and see for awhile. I hate to see the thread die too but Ezra created this with me, it was his beginning idea that set everything in motion and I just wouldn't feel right trying to replace the creator.....if you know what I mean.

Trix you are always welcome here, you should know that. I just now caught Ezra's thread and will start taking applications for his position, but it will be known if he comes back then it reverts back to him.

Okay tell me if I am like super crazy here.....but why doesn't Veroe take over John, that way if Ezra comes back then Veroe can just hand him back over.

The idea about John anyway is that Renee is going to blackmail him by setting him up in Trinity's eyes. DW offered to have either her or Veroe capture John and tuck him away, so I don't see why Veroe can't do a post or two until he is captured for a bit.

What do ya'll think about that?

I also had a strong gut feeling that he wouldn't want it to end, so I wanted to get the ball moving to find a 'replacement' of sorts. So I am sorry for anything I have said that may have seemed disrespectful.

My main concern is that Veroe would have too much to deal with in the thread. John is a rather large and central character, plus Veroe is playing the opposite role, so it could get rather difficult for him to write a character on both sides. It would be like he is writing the story on his own, and that can become stressful.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to find another writer. I can even do or help with the 'recruitment' if you like. I know Ezra had a lot of plans, particularly with Elysia, so I wouldn't want those things to die as I feel they are a great part of John as a character.

I am saying all of this because I do not see Ezra returning. His 'goodbyes' to me were definitely final, which hurts me greatly. But I do not want this to force John to become a secondary character. We will not be able to find a direct replacement, but perhaps we can find a breath of fresh air and some new ideas if we recruit another male writer?

I just didn't want anyone to feel guilty about the thread continuing.
Ezra feels so bad about having to leave it behind and cares for you all so very much.
My only intention was to reassure everyone in the thread just in case anyone felt a bit uneasy about keeping it going.

I think from my sense of the things Ezra has said that he was very proud of and very excited by the collaborative nature we've all taken to building this thread to the point its at.

As for me taking John, its tempting, but I think that'll be a mistake. For one thing as both Allejandro and John I'll be in an unavoidable position to steer the thread to my preconception of it and the collaborative nature I too cherish here will be a thing of the past. Secondly, there's not enough hours in my day to play both characters.

As for recruiting someone to play John...its a pretty daunting task to tackle, to take on one of the principal characters with already plenty of backstory built up to him he'll have to play catch up. We'll need to think hard whether its fair for any new player to take on that responsiblity.
Also we'll need to accept that when whoever takes John. John will be his character from that time on not Ezra's. And accept the subtle changes in the character that will be unavoidable with a new person behind him.

However, there are so many phenomenal writers out there that I believe we can find someone to take this task head on and make this character shine as much as when Ez wrote him.

I'm in favor of continuing, and making the question of whose John we like more akin to your favorite Bond or Doctor Who. In both all the actors play the character differently but all the actors play the part well.

I'd add MusicanKane or BlackBart too but I think availability may be a big issue with them.

This may be off the wall, and John's not the usual character he likes to play-so it may be a no go right there-but what about Kitten-of-Death. I know he's just come back from a long period of having no internet and consequently alot of his threads have died out so...he should be available to join us without stretching himself thin.
