Dance Lessons

I've never taken dance lessons, but am so susceptible to inappropriate romantic feelings or sexual attractions that I caneasily imagine inappropriate stuations arising, starting with actual rising of spontaneous erections as bodies rub. Or spontaneously erect nipples.
A lot of the drama might arise from the identity of the characters, or the context. Could include pre wedding scenarios for instance.
If I was better at comedy, I might suggest the say be said about funny or fun stories.

At another extreme, what trouble could exotic or pole dancing lessons possibly create?

I’ve done a few dance lessons (though just lessons, never did a full class). When you’re a teen even the most basic dance can feel intimate but ballroom as an adult…oh my god.

Again, just lessons but even the more chaste styles require trust and can involve physical assertion that lead both participants sweating. Your partner can become an extension of yourself and you of them. There’s a reason stories that focus on dance tend to be coupled with quite a bit or erotic intimacy.

Also I once got trained to do the dance steps to “You Can’t stop the Beat” from Hairspray by a Broadway dancer….that wasn’t erotic but it was a ton of fun.

Anywho ideas:

1. Loosely based on one of my lessons. Awkward guy in college is doing his physical education class (did everyone else have those in college?) and they do a couple weeks devoted to dance. While feisty coeds pair up, he gets paired with the older women who are coming back to get their degrees. On the whole they just find it funny to be dipped and twirled by a younger man. However, the instructor: a fiery woman in her 40s, can see his frustration and becomes his partner and takes turns leading and following. The class ends but she asks if he’d like one more session in private.

2. Dance class has too many guys or gals so same sex couples are necessary and these hastily formed couples find a surprising connection.

2A. For a little extra flavor maybe it isn’t even just a queer awakening. Maybe seeing their partner lead or follow makes them realize they don’t have to do the one that follows gender norms and they go back to their romantic partner and ask to take charge or let their partner take charge in bed

I don't know jack diddley about dancing so I could never write a believable dance story. But I can imagine two gal pals who decide to take pole dancing lessons to surprise their boyfriends. But during the lessons they get erotically attracted to each other and end up having a steamy lesbian interlude. They swear to each other that it will never happen again. But of course it does.

As I've outlined a few times, my Moms were often fortysomething former competitive professional dancers, complete with trophy rooms full of awards and pictures. They still had their dance outfits, basically tailored cocktail dresses.

Something gets their attention and they get back into shape and on the prowl. Could very well be teaching some young Dude to dance. Or maybe a young couple who wants to get into competitions.

I have a partial story in my files where a son and daughter in law, try to get his recently widowed father to get out there again and enjoy life. She suggests dance lessons since her husband doesn't care for it but the daughter in law and father enjoy it. The father in law was into country/western, but she convinces him to try ballroom. They get closer and of course end up in bed.

Just read your post, as you can see from my Lit name I couldn't agree more about the eroticism of dance. If you want to, check out my story Shall we Play a Game part #3, and stay tuned for my soon to be published Helping Melinda part 3. I have another story in mind where four sorority pledges have to take dance lessons where they meet a really good dancer that all four want (halfway through a wonderful plot twist!). I've danced for more than twenty years, even done some teaching, and if you can really dance with someone where you totally connect with that person it's the best foreplay in the world!

Here's a bit of trivia: In the Dancing plague of 1518, hundreds of people in Strasbourg (Europe) starting dancing, uncontrollably, in the town square, for weeks. Many of them died. To this day nobody is sure why.

Anyway, in a Lit version, it could be dancing that leads to uncontrollable fornication in the town square for weeks.
