Damned Bondings (Open)

Matthias grimaced at the defiant figure in front of him. He was a pure sexist, thinking women were just toys and pushovers, well... his sense of the world was being challenged in a way that made him uncomfartable but infatuated at the same time, who would have thought it?

The girl in front of him exuded sexual attraction and it hurt him to admit it, he was ashamed of his action before and wanted to repent to her to make his conscience clear. Well either that or he wanted to fuck her. Real bad. At any rate he was attracted to her.

He blushed as he got an erection and hoped she wouldn't notice. What was with him, she was pretty but not the tastiest chick he'd ever seen, why couldn't he get a grip?

"Bloody hell...I've just been kicked in the balls but I'm still head over heels about this stranger..." he muttered.

He looked up into her eyes and blushing closed his eyes, but wished he hadn't, as soon as he closed his eyes he could just picture her fine ass which sent made him pant thickly. Taking a moment to recollect himself he said:

"Sorry about my insults, it was tactless of me and also about the cheap chat up line" He laughed "But you didn't have to hit me that hard, how about you help me up?"

The blush to his face didn't go unnoticed, and neither did his erection. Adara chuckled to herself. Staring into his mud brown eyes.

She reached over the table and extended her arm towards him, her hand palm up as she watched him watch her watch him. "Why the sudden change of heart sweetie?" She purred, a bit surprised that he'd so quickly admit to have been at fault.

The men his kind normally played different games, but maybe she was falling victim to stereotypical thinking, hmm...or maybe not. Either way, her gaze travelled down his body, settling green eyes on his crotch blatantly.

"Or is it something else doing the thinking for you?" Adara noticed that another demon had entered the bar. Leaning into the table she lowered her voice. "I'm Adara, what's your name?" asked too innocently.

"My liege..."

A lesser male demon said while bowing down deeply before the great Demon Lord Zenith whom sat upon a giant throne in the deepest pits of hell.
Blazing fire shot up everywhere around them and the ground was scorched black with bloodied demonic symbols carved into it. Skulls of both demons and humans alike could be seen hanging and decorating the great lords walls and the constant wailing of tortured souls could be echoing every now and then throughout the room.

The demon lord himself in comparison to the smaller demon was a giant, decked out in spiked bone armor that covered his entire body, save for his arms and face which exposed inflaming red skin.

The smaller lessor demon on the other hand wore no armor and appeared more human then demon wearing a black leather trench coat (despite the heat). His hair was the color of ebony and his eyes were hidden by a pair of tinted shades.

After a few moments the intense burning eyes of the demon lord fell over the lessor demon and narrowed causing a few flickers of flames to ignite on his trench coat for a brief moment.

"Do you have anything to report?" The large demon asked lazily while resting his cheek on the knuckles of one clawed hand the other taping the arm of his throne chair impatiently.

The lesser demon remained in his bowed position and spoke lightly.

"Nothing as of yet my lord...no powerful humans of significant power even worth mentioning have come to be just yet."

The demon lord nodded somewhat and continued.

"And what of those sent to the human realms? Any trouble among the mortals and angels?"

The male demon frowned and sighed lightly out of disappointment. "Again nothing to report my lord...most demons and angels avoid each other like the plague...and there is minimal contact with mortals as well. Save for a few rare moments which were resolved quickly. Other then that all are following the written rules like good little puppets... I must admit though... temptation is getting rather high between the groups."

The demon lord chuckled at that and then his burning eyes narrowed upon the lesser demon once again causing his skin to burn as he openly mocked him. "I see..are you sure it's not you who's falling into such temptations...are you not tempted yourself to break the law...Sin?"

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h289/NinaZaling/RP Characters/Sin2.jpg

The demon known as Sin rose up slowly allowing his eyes to meet that of the demon lords. Even with the shades on, looking into the great demon lords eyes made sins eyes burn and even start to bleed, such was the mangnitude of the great dark lords power. Sin wasn't one to show weakness however and forced himself to look into the demons eyes as blood trickled down his face and a slight grin spread across his face.

"Being an incubus I'm always tempted to break such laws my lord...however. ::Sin said while his face became completely serious:: I also have a lot more control then most demons and won't allow temptation to get in the way of my duties...besides. ::Sin said while shrugging:: "Only a dumb ass would be stupid enough to bring the wrath of both heaven and hell upon them."

"heh..very well then Sin, continue your work up in the human world and kill anyone you find breaking this law. I will send a messenger to find you if your needed here, Until then don't return."

"yes my lord...whatever you wish."

Bowing once more Sin then turned and made his way into the darkness of hell, his trench coat floating lightly behind him.

Whiping away the blood from his face Sin frowned.
"Damn that bastard" Sin thought to himself as he started to pat his trench coat trying to put out some of the small flames that were starting to burn holes through his coat.
"I just fucking bought this coat too." He grumbled to himself as a dark portal opened up above him. Taking off his trench coat Sin gritted his teeth as two large black leathery wings riped from his flesh and expanded to full size.
Sighing Sin ignored the pain haveing decades to get used to them and wraped his trech coat around his arm.

Looking up Sin would give a quick jump upwards as he used his wings to propell him upwards and enter the portal, making his way into the land of mortals.

(yeah...I love playing a demon.)

Fang

I hope you're ready for an ass beating." Scaron growled "You shouldn't touch a lady unless invited to do so."

Fang smiled but paused slightly, he had heard an unseen demon someone quite near in the vicinity, he motioned for Scaron to stop, his face one of alarm. Quickly he used another one of his talents, the crystal on his chest started to glow slightly as power gushed forth from it. Thought-speak.

"Hey fishboy" he said in the demon's head, can you smell that?"

"Well it looks like fish is back on the menu" he said as he sunk his large fangs into Scaron's neck, knowing it shouldn't hurt him. Well not too much.

Matthias

Matthias blushed again as his erection grew to its full size.

The girl chuckled, staring at him.

"Why the sudden change of heart sweetie?" She purred.

He smiled up at her.

"Well I suppose I can see your great personlaity and so on...."

her gaze travelled down his body, settling green eyes on his crotch blatantly.

Matthias suddenly came over all coy, surely this was madness, he felt himself succembing more and more to her sexual allure, his thoughts not helping him either.

"Or is it something else doing the thinking for you?"

He sincerely hoped not as his thoughts at that moment? Well lets just say they certainly weren't PG.

"I'm Adara, what's your name?"

"The names Matthias, Adara? Thats a really pretty name"

He smiled, she could sense what he was after and he knew she wasn't going to give it to him easily.

"Would you like a drink?"

Ooc: Dammit Dragoon if you hadn't stopped me earlier with angel girl-Sin would be coming after me and it wwould be so much more interesting.... :nana:

Scaron sniffed around. Yeah, I smell that. So, why the fuck are you biting me? He growled lowly at Fang. Because I personally do NOT like being bitten by strange demons.

Abigail remained in the bar for a moment, torn between two choices. She could mind her own business and grab something to eat, or follow the two demons outside. Well, technically their fight was her business, it started because of her. Groaning at her need to supervise the two. Casually she stepped out, immediately sensing more than the two demons there. Great, it seemed it was one against three. Not that they were fighting with her, but being an angel she always had to think of the worst to prepare herself.

The two were facing each other obviously about to fight when she noticed the winged ones eyes wide a little then bite the other. Scaron didn't fight back which was a bit odd to her. "Stop it you two," she called gracefully walking toward them. "We need not waste energy on childish bouts." The water demon had been helping her, was that childish? No but continuing it after the fact was.

Anna was the odd one out, she had been al her adult life and indeed al of her childhood as well. She was the first in a class to become a woman, so to speak, the only tomboy type in an all-girls school. Being a teenager in such a place had been more than frustrating for her. Oh how she wished she had been sent to a mixed boarding school instead ... it would have been so much more .... fun.

But now there was something ese ...

Yes, she was human, but she couldn't help but stand out in that way too. She that sort of goregous that wasn't really in your face, it was subtle, but she was very pretty. But no ... that wasn't it. She had grown a liking for wearing rather revealing clothes out at night. But no ... that wasn't it. No the thing that set hr apart from the rest of this evolving humanity, the other in the ages of Angels and Demons, was the pair of pure white wings on her back. She did not have that grace an Angel had, thats what set her as human, but the ignorant masses couldn't help but call this lowly prostitute, an angel.

She was an evolved human, mistaken for an Angel.

It was awkward, she could feel the tenseness in the air as she slipped in to the street where a pair of demons had taken it upon themselves to duke it out. It seemed a Angel was also present, a beautiful young angel, trying her best to stop this fight. Anna didn't want to get involve.

Being a 'good little human', she simply made an attempt to slip by the trio unnoticed ...

A good distance away from the bar and within a random ally a white cat jumped on top of a large dumpster and began licking it's paw. It's ears suddenly twitched upwards and it gave a low hiss and meow before hurriedly leaping away and knocking over a few trashcans in the process. Soon after a swirling dark portal opened at the back of the ally and Sin flew out into the mortal realm.

Landing softly Sin looked about to get his barrings and also looked upwards to try and determine the time of day. It was now late evening and the sun was starting to go down.

"Perfect"
Sin thought as his wings folded around him like a cloak and then became one with his skin again. Fitting into his black trench coat once more Sin casually stepped forward and joined the crowds of mortals, out in the main street.

More than ten years had passed since that bright summer day. A girl had been around 10 years of age; In love with life and its surprises. She had been lucky enough to have parents who were rather well to do, and they pampered her like she had not a day left to live.

But on that day... something happened. It had been the turning point in her life, just when she had given in to that cold essence that always seemed to hover above her mind, body, and soul. Of course she knew not what it was, and honestly, she still had no idea. None the less, it took a moment of pure anger to unleash what had laid dormant in her since birth.

The victim? Mirna. The maid's knees gave and she crumbled unto the carpeted floor, her body heaved as moans were forced from her lips by that which consumed her body.

Heat...

Like a being with hands and fingers that touched, probed, and stroked at her very core. She writhed in pleasure..spasmed.. eyes wide in surprise and confusion. The little girl watched with eyes the palest of green and yelled at her "Get up!! I want you to apologize right now!!" But nothing, it was as if at that moment nobody existed for Mirna but her body and those incredible sensations.

What she hadn't realized however, was that the warmth that was once pleasant was growing in intensity, just as the girl's anger was. Mirna screamed, hands batting at herself, trying in vain to put out invisible flames.

The guys in black uniforms weren't able to identify the body, for it was burned from the inside out; a pile of ash and nothing more.

*****************************************************************
"Matthias eh?" She laughed "I like it, it's quite befitting. Actually yes, I think I'll have a drink, anything soft will do." She replied, her gaze boring into his as she studied him.

Adara felt the familiar stirrings that began in the pit of her stomach, excitement, anticipation, and most of all... unbridled lust. She would tilt her head and watch him leave, envisioning his naked body, much like she had with the others.

Her tongue came to caress her lips and she wondered.. Does he even like pain?

She wrinkled up her nose, stepping forward more, not to between the two but much closer than she had before. She knew better than to get between them even though she doubted either one of them would strike her. They wouldn't would they? Not the one called Scaron anyway. He seemed like somewhat of a gentleman despite his demonish ways, but the other? Well he had had the nerve to touch her rather rudely. No telling what he might do. Abigail could not read their thoughts and she wouldn't have thought to do so anyway, so she hadn't a clue that they had moved on to other things.

However she did sense another angel present. No...that wasn't an angel's aura she felt. Turning her head slightly noticing a scantily dressed human with wings. She was evolved it was more than obvious as she looked like an angel. She was pretty, there was no mistaking that, but it was something that wasn't in your face. Being an angelic being, it wasn't hard for Abigail to notice beauty in things and the girl's aura screamed it, despite her less than formal way of dressing. Not wanting to get the girl caught up in her mess, Abigail turned to face the demons once more, scolding them again as her wings fluttered irritably.

The demonic presence she had felt seemed to be growing closer and she could tell it was strong. Her eyes broke away from the pair, looking down the street trying to estimate its distance. Why did it seem she always got mixed up in things like this? She should have just finished her rounds and gone home.

"Sorry, damn you taste disgusting"

Thought Fang as he spat out some of Scaron's blood. Fang paused and felt the aura that had entered into the world, it felt familiar and realising who it was he looked fearfully around at the anel and Scaron:

"Get the hell out of here! God Dammit"

How could he convince htem of the increasing-danger they were in when they were with him? He decided to let them see his memory:

An Angel stood on the horizon, his eyes of the palest blue tall and proud. He was embracing a demon, a demon girl who had red eyes and back hair...tears were falling onto her as he cried....

"Mia, we cannot be....it is forbidden...." the angel whispered

"Please, just one more kiss"

The Angel let his mouth fill with her sweetness, he could smell her scent....and then it went wrong...a knife went through the demon and killed her instantly, the angel was forced to bow to the demon lords.

There was unbearable pain as he was forced to transform into a chaos demon, his white wings stripped for black wings, his pale blue eyes changed innto red eyes...his love forever gone...

Fang came back from his memory and hoped they understood, he summoned his dark energy into an aura and opened up his impressive wings.

"come to me, Sin and death shall feel like bliss"

he thought as he waited for revenge....

Matthias

"Matthias eh?" She laughed

"I like it, it's quite befitting. Actually yes, I think I'll have a drink, anything soft will do." She replied, her gaze boring into his as she studied him.

"Umm ok"

Matthias went to get drinks and came back, studying her pale green eyes and her face.

"so uh what do you do?"he asked her, sipping his drink

Rouge

When the first wave of evolution had passed over the humans, there had been the emergence of powers, aswell as physical change in some, transcending them to a whole new level of existence. How Rouge had stood in the streets, staring in awe as these fledgling mutants had experimented with these new powers; how he'd longed to touch the sky like some did, he'd craved power all his life - having come from an abusive household - and the memories of his father's callous fists beating against his young ribs hit him almost as hard as the physical blows themselves had. And so he'd carried on, merely watching as the angels descended from their heavenly realm, and the demons crawled up from the pits they were spawned from - but experiencing no change, having no supernatural being check up on him as he was nothing now, lower than low.
But one day he had been 'blessed', or so he had first thought, with gifts of his own - dark gifts that seemed to haunt his very sleep - so that whenever he closed his eyes he would dream of death, and little else. He scalded himself for ever craving such power, as even in a world where most humans had undergone this change he still felt different; as if his change had been darker than what the others had experienced, as it scarred his every waking thought - so he hid it from public view - keeping his gift nestled inside of him.

Rouge clutched his arm, a large gash having been made in his tender flesh during the drunken fight in the bar. He had not started the fight himself of course, he liked to keep himself to himself, but he'd been caught up in it and with every wild swing to try and defend himself he felt his gifts bubbling below the surface - ready to erupt - but he knew he'd have to stifle these carnal urges and so he stumbled away from the mass: his worry only growing when two demons and an angel seemed to get involved, and sat himself upon a bar stool, pulling his jacket sleeves down to obscure the blood that now soaked his upper arm.

[OOC: Hope that's alright]

The bar, that which had been quiet and desolate mere hours ago, was now very animated. Adara had tried to mind her business, to not get involved in the fight that seemed to only grow in its intensity. Angels.. demons.. and a few humans.

Matthias returned with her drink, and she stared at him with darkening eyes. Her breathing not the smooth, almost inexistant rise and fall it was before. She reached up and curled fingers around the beverage, sliding it along the table's surface.

"How much of risk-taker are you Matthias?" She asked him slowly.

He had wanted something from her, but her desires now ran further than what she believed he was aware of.

"These powers are seductive.. intoxicating.. don't fall victim to their allure" - Yeah it was a little too late for Adara now, as she reveled in them.

Scaron rubbed his neck where Fang had bitten, dark blood dripping down. "So, why the hell did you bite me anyway?" He asked, a bit pissed that he had done so. "Well, whatever. Do it again and I'll kill you in very slow and painful way."

He turned to face Abigail and saw the human with the wings, but didn't comment on the mortal. Despite his respect for them they were still beneath demons. "Well, now that's over we have yet to introduce ourselves. I am Scaron. And what's your name?" He asked, bowing to her.

Sin yawned lightly as he walked steadily down the street with the rest of the crowed. A newspaper stand caught his eye and he moved over to it and bought the daily paper.

"hmm"

"Local inn goes up in flames. Cause unkown believed to have been started by a demon"

"young Couple found killed in the streets. Police belive the cause was from a battle between an angel and demon."

"I was saved by an angel!"

"Hell and heaven invadeing?"

"pfft so much for discrimination..."::Sin said to himself as he read the paper. Most of the news nowadays was nothing but reports of angels and demon sightings and almost everything that happend now was instantly a demons fault. Sin missed the days when humans were simply left in the dark to what was going on around them. It made things much easier to have someone simply dissapear or made to look like an accidental death if a mortal needed to be taken out.
Saddly..that was the past and this was the preasent and Sin had decided to simply accept it and continue to do his job.

Thinking of his job Sin finally decided that it was about time that he started and steped to the side of the busy street. Closed his eyes for a moment sin allowed his mind to focus and become open to the aura's of every demon and angel within the city limits. With this power he could also sense the emotions that were currently running through them and Sin couldn't help but to notice quite a few strong ones at the moment.

His eyes then flared open and he smirked.

"Well..what have we here?" Sin said to himself while turning and looking off to the west. "Quite a gathering of demons we have there and an angel to boot too.."

Usally when demons gathered like that they were just causing trouble for mortals and Sin would of ignored it. The presense of an angel however spiked his curosity.
They could be attacking the angel and if that was the case and they happened to kill it the arch angels of heaven would be pretty pissed and most likely try to hunt them down...however they could also be trying to have some fun with the angel and that just wouldn't sit well with anyone.

Whatever the case was Sin knew he was obligated to check it out, and wheather or not anything was really happening Sin might at least be entertained by the event.
Moving again Sin made his way to another free alley way and steped into the shadows, as he did so his body seemed to melt into them and like a rushing wind his form moved through the realm of shadows to his disired destination. Sin was coming... and he hoped he wouldn't be missing much of the party.

OOC: I'd love to join if that's alright.

The alley was silent save for the occasional rustle of trash. It was almost empty. There were no garbage cans, cats, or people. A black circle appeared suddenly, a sinister red flame pouring out of it. This was the signal that a fire demon was coming to earth. Indeed two wings emerged from the circle as black as the night sky, followed by a pale, slender body covered by flame red hair. Aithne, demoness of fire had come to earth.
Her long hair covered her otherwise nude body as her wings caped around her shoulders. "Hmm...I suppose I should form some clothes..." As she spoke, smoke poured from her mouth and began to form into a corset, skirt, thigh high stockings, and 3 inch high heels. "That should do..." She dressed quickly and headed toward the crowd.

Keely was a waitress in the bar. It was a rough place to work but the tips were good. Keely had never had a father, when she had asked about him her mother had told her that no good would come of it. Her father was a ...very bad man. Keely's mother was gone now. She had run off with the latest in a string of very bad men. Her mother had a taste for darkness that couldn't be matched.

At nineteen Keely really wasn't old enough to work in the bar, but the owner liked her and thought she was cute. Plus Keely had planted the thought in his mind that it was a very good idea. Keely's gifts were a secret to everyone else in her life, even her mother hadn't known. She could meddle with the thoughts of men, deceive them, she was highly clever but at times had needs so primal that she couldn't curb them. Her differences frightened her.

She watched the action with eyes lowered. She gasped as she felt heat rise through her body from watching the demons fight.

Gilkane sat back and looked around his piercing green eyes looking around the room. He watched from his seat the people, the angels and the demons. A thin smile came acrossed his face. As he mused to himself as he played his daily game testing the limited of what they said were the Gifts from God, he always wondered if the demons were here too did Lucifer give any gifts.

He wondered many things he also wondered if any of these mighty demons or angels would ever noticed that every table and chair in the bar was excatly one quarter of an inch off the ground?

He discovered his Telekinetic skills months ago but everytime he tried to find a limit he did not seem to have one, the one thing that truly freightened him, not a demon or angel, was what if he didn't have a limit. That placed a knot in his stomach and everything in the bar dropped one quarter of a inch. At least he found a limit, focus if he lost his focus things could get very hairy. He just thanked God that they all dropped his appartment manager is still stewning over the repairs in his ceiling when every piece of furniture he own rocketed into the ceiling when he lost focus.

He leaned forward dressed in all black, his blonde hair cascading down his shoulders, his piercing eyes looking for signs if anyone noticed. He smiled, this would be an interesting day...

OOC I hope this is ok

Anael

OOC: Hope its ok to join this thread

Anael was always moving back and forth between the Citadel and Earth, being the Angel of Romantic Love and being involved with Human Sexuality, he had to ensure that Humans didnt fall for other beings. He very rarely got involved, just watched, he had Angels to sort things out. Besides being One of the Seven Angels of Creation and Govenor of the Second Heaven meant he was constantly needed for something. Some days he would descend, hide his wings away, remove his armour, don a light robe over his naked form and wander among the mortals. He was ancient in human terms, his actual age long forgotten, but he kept the appearance of a young male so he could mingle. He knew better than to get attached to humans, granted there were laws, they wouldnt stop him, what did was the thought that he would long outlive a human. She would just become a small grain of sand in his hourglass of time. Oh he was attracted to them, but so far wilpower had overcome, but then again, the last time he had descended was over 20 human years ago, nothing to him, but the world had changed, and the temptation was greater.

He wandered the streets, looking for somewhere to stop and watch.

Fang

The demon looked in utter disbelievment at Scaron, did he not believe the vision, was he so mundane as to not understand Fang's memory? Somehow Scaron was not scared, had not even flinched at the revelation fang used to be an angel!

"Scaron, take all the people around here and get the hell outta here, you don't want to be near me."

Fang hovered slightly in the aireyes dancing around, he knew there was an unwelcome visitor somewhere around here, he had felt the portal and could still feel th aura.

"Do you still need an incentive to come?" he mused aloud, he looked around and saw the mutated human with wings, and suddenly had an idea. Flapping his black wings he flew over to the human and embraced her.

"Sorry, I'm so sorry" he whispered, as his mouth found sweetness inside hers. he hungrily pressed himself close to her and flew them both up, in plain view of everyone.

"Lets hope you come quickly, sevant of the demon lord"

A sudden rush of hot wind would hit everyone in the outside vacinitiy of the bar sending paper and small bits of pavement flying in all directions and even causing one of the windows of the bar to crack as small bits of debree smacked into it. A heavy and evil aura now hung in the air, and even humans nerby with no magical senses would be able to feel it, causing some of them to flee and with good cause. Usally Sin hid his aura to prevent detection but seeing as everyone knew he was here anyway Sin saw no reason to hide it now.

As the haze of dust cleared from his initial arival the first thing people would notice was the bright red charcol glow from hellish fire beneath his shades. As more of the dust cleared his trench coat became apprent followed by his long black boots. Slowly his eyes would dim out from view only leaving the black shades to cover his handsom face as a wide smirk spread over his face revealing a full set of white teeth and a pair of sharp fangs.
Steping forward and over an overturned peice of the street, he rested his gloved hands over his hips and continued to advance towards the group of demons and angel.

"well well well...what have we here?... A party?... A gathering of friends?..
A friendly battle between rivals? or perhapes...some law breaking citizens."

As he talked Sins crimson eyes scaned over everyone, first laying his eyes upon the water demon (Scaron) and then over to the angel (Abigail) who seemed rather flustered about something. After having scoped *all* of Abigail out Sins eyes then wandered skywards as he spoted the other demon (Fang) floating in the air with a human locked in his arms and what appeared to be a passionate kiss.

"Interesting..." Sin said slightly louder so Fang could hear.
"but I think you might need some pointers there. Your kiss looks kind of sloppy from here."
He mocked and grined.

"You wouldn't happen to be planing on doing any recreation with that human now would you?"

He said while cracking his knuckles.

Anael walked onto the street outside the bar in time to see a demon rise up with an angel, or was it. No his mind said, she's evovled. Casting his eyes around he suddenly became aware of the others, cursing himself for not paying attention to his senses. Demons, 2 of them, an Angel, and something else, moving closer. Alarm bells were ringing, something was happening and that young beautiful Angel was on her own. Moving closer he recognised her as Abigail, one of the "guardians". Young yet developing well, Abigail had impressed many of those in the Realm above with he cool headedness, devotion and abilities. Anael was sure she would detect his presence soon, as would the demons. He slowely approached the gathering, sensing that his help would soon be needed. Was this the beginning of something big, or just another disagreement.

A hot wind suddenly lifter debris and litter, a demon with a huge aura had arrived. Anael watched on wondering if this aura had hidden his own. He carefully approached the group, staying to the side of the street, watching, Abigail , the Demons and the evolved human in a passionate embrace with a demon above them. No law had been broken .... yet, so what was such a powerful demon here to achieve.

He stayed in the shadows, keeping his robe closed and watched. His blue eyes, taking everything in, his senses now on full alert, trying to stay ahead of the game. He reached out, trying to push his aura toward Abigail, just to let her know another Angel was nearby.
