Watched the Daytona 500 today. What a race, literaly right down to the wire. I was even happy with the placement of one of the rookies, one I'm watching. (Montoya)

The accidents were extraodinary. One of the top 20 actually finished with his car upside-down, skidding across the finish line. Luckily I didn't hear about any serious injuries. It was a great finish.

Damn! I was whacking to a Lit story and missed it! WTF was I thinking!

I was going to watch it, but got called into work. Damn! I hate I missed a good one.

I don't know if it was a good one, but it was definitely interesting. I don't watch car racing, but I was checking in on it from time to time and caught the big accident 3 laps from the finish (the race stopped for 20 minutes or so). Then there was another big wreck on the last straightaway. It was insane. Poor Martin had the lead until the last 1/4 mile and lost by about 4 feet. He had never won a Daytona 500 before...damn he must be pissed!

You couldn't ask for better drama... there were crashes, someone from the pit crew got run over, stuff was smoking and catching on fire...there were tears and people getting rammed from behind! It's everything I love. :D

I had money on Tony Stewart (and on Phil Mickelson ... damn you and your man breasts), unfortunately he hit the wall in a pretty spectacular crash (that was his own stupid fault). But you can't fault a race that was won by twelve one-hundredths of a second (with the entire field crashing and burning behind the winners) and a guy who finished 14th sliding across the finish line upside down and on fire.

It was just what NASCAR needed after all the "scandals" that made the news.

After six years in the top ten (two time total third), 7 GP victories and 13 poles in the F1, CART champ in -99 and Indy 500 champ in 2000, guy must get a kick out of being called a rookie again.

It's like calling David Beckham a rookie, because he'll now play for an American club.

Yesterday was pretty interesting.
My boyfriend is a huge Nascar fan.. mostly Earnhardt Sr. Of course now, he likes Jr, along with a few others.
So I decided to look stuff up about Sr. this morning..
It's kinda creepy that yesterday was the anniversary of his death... and the accident with Stewart was eerily similar to Earnhardt's.
I think I just gave myself goosebumps, lol.

Anyhow, I've never been a fan, but yesterday's race was interesting... I kept running back up from the basment from doing laundry, asking what I missed, lol. (I almost missed the Jack Daniel's car's magnificent finish, lol.)

I bet Martin is pissed.. I woulda been, lol.

P.S. I vote the Snickers car as the prettiest, LOL. :p

Junior got crashed because of someone else's stupidity with 5 laps to go. That was it for me. After that, I didn't care who won. Everybody that our house roots for was out of it by then.
