We all have something we miss... Often something we just realize on the spur of the moment...

*grin*

I don't even know what plasmatics are... but when we were at the movies tonight, I saw posters for Underdog. What. The. Hell? Why is it that every freaking cartoon/book of my childhood is being made into a movie? They're doing a Nancy Drew movie, too... did Hollywood completely run out of screewriters?

And I read on the news somewhwere today that the major sugar coated hyper inducing cereal companies have caved to nutritionists, and will be adding healthy things to breakfast cereals and killing off cartoon characters, as well.

Ya know, I'm a mom. I never bought my kids froot loops, cocoa puffs, cap'n crunch, etc, because they are loaded with sugar, and I'm the mom. I could give a rip if the neato cartoon character on TV say it's yummy. I could give a rip if every other freaking kid in school/playgroup/whatever ate red dye #40 laden breakfast cereal 7 days a week. I had all the money, I did the grocery shopping, I refused to fill their tummies (and brains) with crap. Personal responsibility, people. Long live Tucan Sam.

And yeah. Beancounter syndrome.. Originality in screenplays is considered to be a risk.. Which is why all the damned sequals... People will go see it...even if it sucks. It's why I watch a lot of "B" {and lower} cinema... At least it's generally original.

Have to say I agree with you but we live in a society which promotes looking for someone or something to blame, waiting for someone else to do what you need done, not daring to have an original thought or initiative, not having an opinion because it might upset someone else, not thinking and certainly not speaking out, and basically throwing your hands in the air in helpless surrender...one of the reasons I choose to live as far on the fringe as is possible. :p

I miss my father. Passed away 9 years ago--way too young and before he got to enjoy his grandchildren.

I miss the feeling of being totally stress-free. No worries about bills, money issues, sex, or anything else. I miss the ability I used to have to make almost any situation into a romantic or intimate one, without the worry that I was going to be rejected or denied.

I also miss working for Hewlitt Packard. That was a fun job...

I miss Luther Vandross. The thought that there will never be another song by Luther is depressing as hell.

I miss Powerhouse candy bars-damn, they were good. I miss books being priced more reasonably, as opposed to 7.99 per paperback (at least.) I miss having a bicycle.

I lost my virginity with a Luther Vandross CD playing in the background.

Ohh..maybe that belongs in the confession thread...

Along this same vein I miss the real Cookie Monster who now has to say some shit like "And sometimes Cookies aren't food" or some such nonsense. But I don't really watch Sesame Street any more....really....I swear.

Having an Cigar Room to settle in at the end of a busy day exploring.

The feel and scent of plumeria straight from a chillroom.

Cracking a Kiln when it's temp drops to see what glazes have evolved.

Light sunburn and salt dried in my hair after a day in the Ocean.

The euphoria from observing well executed classical music performed .

Formal dressing every freaking night to within an inch of my life.

Chilling out on a dock , talking to crew in newly discovered foreign ports.

Sitting on timber box on a balcony in the middle of the Pacific Ocean , listening to music, sipping wine and pretending no one else had ever seen the sea before I did.

I think I need a holiday.........

Krap I forgot fishing !
