9-year-old boy with stage 4 cystic fibrosis attempts to break Guinness World Record

Dalton Dingus is a 9-year-old boy from Salyersville, KY, living with stage 4 cystic fibrosis.

He has been sent home because there is nothing else doctors can do. They have only given him a couple of weeks to live. He told his mom he is ready to go because he is tired. He wants to beat the Guinness World Record for the most Christmas Cards. The record is 35,000.

You can help Dalton break the record by sending him a card at the following address:

Just a card, a 45 cent stamp, and a little of your time to make his Christmas wish come true.

Ummm... did you check it on Snopes.com first?

Done.

Hope that when/if someone sees a report on how many he got, they'll post it here.

I just finished addressing a card, and I will mail it today. With a last name of Dingus, you can't blame some people for being doubtful.

Late for the party, but I'm sure he can use one more. My thanks for posting this.

Another Case

Here's another, similar story--Lynchburg, Virginia, letting out the stops to fulfill the Christmas wishes of a five-year-old boy dying of cancer. I only found out about because 50 police cars and fire department vehicles just drove through my town this afternoon with sirens going en route to Lynchburg from Massachusetts. The boy had asked for Christmas cards from his heros--policemen and firemen. A bunch of them in Massachusetts decided to deliver them in person--this Friday, on the football field, at Liberty University.

I'm a little late but Dalton's card went out today, and my State Police friend organized a bunch of his troopers to sent to Nathan as well.

Dalton's Card

Dalton's card is addressed and ready to mail. Taking it to the P.O. in a few minutes. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Leaving tomorrow to spend holiday with my family. :rose:
