In the ocean of the holy dharma
There is neither movement nor stillness.
The essence of the wave is like a mirror;
When something comes, the reflection appears.
When there is nothing in the mind,
Wind and waves are both forgotten.

- Gido

How can one ever forget the wind and the waves?

If one achieves nirvana they shall not recognize the wind or the waves. The wind and waves are factors of time and forces, both of which will have been transcended. It about moving above and boyond the 'nuts and bolts' existence into an existence that is much more, but absolutely nothing.

The middle two lines illustrate this point.

(nice thread)
