Can't sleep. Thank you for playing along. The polls are always anonymous.

How can I be the first to vote if there is no poll?

Oh, sure I come back and there is a poll.

I was raised Catholic, but I swear God hates me with all the crap that has been thrown my way throughout my entire life. But what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right?

Full on heathen here...I veer towards pagan atheism more than anything else...worship may be too strong a word but a strong connection with nature and seeing the sentience in animals without all that silly gods and goddesses stuff...

Although I'm listening to St paul's cathedral choir on the news singing Christmas carols...I still love the songs and can remember all of the words...more a nostalgia for childhood than any kind of belief though...

I was baptised a catholic but never made to follow the doctrine because my mother was so tortured and abused by those apparently practising her faith...for that, I am grateful...I've even been informed that I can be "de-baptised" which I am seriously considering except for the fact that my father (ironically, the non catholic parent) has begged me to reconsider...

Jesus has me. Why I sometimes wonder. But ultimately for me and the Mrs, we'll be in no other arms. There. It's said.

In my best Forrest Gump voice ----

I'm going to heaven IHC!

Yes. I am not religious. I was raised Catholic, when to 12 years of Catholic school, including 4 years at a Franciscan high school. I am *this* close to rejoining the Catholic church as I see under Pope Francis that the church is getting more catholic, which means all-inclusive.

I pray every day. I read the bible occasionally. I try to be a good person. I incorporate other beliefs into my personal life and do not espouse the theory of "my god is better than your god."

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, as it was said. Still love that one.

God and nature to me are synonymous. I see beauty, spiritualism, faith and appreciation in the water the trees the people I love...and I'm grateful that 'something' has put me here on this earth.

I lost my faith a long time ago.
Was brought up in a strict catholic home & was very heavily involved in the church until HS ended. Once I went to university, I left the church & want nothing to do with it. My mother to this day doesn't like it but she has grown to accept it.
I have nothing good or positive to say about religion. The end.

I was raised Methodist and constantly questioned things the preacher/church members said. They would say one thing and do another, literal interpretations of the Bible, etc. College gave me the freedom to branch out and experience new religious beliefs. I'm a happy little pagan/solo practitioner/witch now.

Damn that was the easiest pole I think I've answered here.

I often joke that I worship the O god... And even start speaking in tongues.

I was never brought up in a strict religious household. I may have stepped inside a church 10 times in my entire life. Maybe.

There are times when I believe very strongly in a God. And there are times when I cast the notion aside entirely. But then I look around and realise that, even with the some-odd billion years life has had a chance to happen on this planet, maybe, just maybe, chance isn't enough. So yeah. I believe in a higher power, but I won't ever hasten to call it a God. I was thinking about this just yesterday, in fact...

There go my two cents.

Thanks, Clowns, for giving us this. Bit like your 'show your faces' thread. I've valued the opportunity for us to show just a bit of the 'inside', in a context where we each just state the case for ourselves without it being challenged or argued. That's been cool mate. Cheers. What's coming tomorrow, eh?!

Always have believed there is a God, the God. Never would ever not believe. But He plays favorites and that makes Him not perfect and not all good.

BTW folks, pretty sure that Option #3 doesn't include Santa. Nice try if you voted hoping to improve present quality, but don't hope too hard. ;)

I'm open to the possibility of God, but I have no use for religion and the way men have twisted faith and used it to divide humanity rather than unite it.

God or a Dom?? :)

Scientology might be for you. ;)
The devil made me say both comments or the prednisone.

Believe in God. Believe there is a plan for my life though I'm not always sure what it is. I've felt His hand in things - sometimes in the moment, sometimes after the fact. But the birth of my children solidified it for me. That and when I take in the breathtaking views of his natural creations - from a blufftop, mountaintop, or looking at the miracle that is a baby's smile.

Born into a very religious family.
I became an atheist at about age 6 (Before I even knew what the word) when I argued with a teacher about who was the evil person in the Exodus story (Exodus 10:1-3)

The teacher started the reading 10:3 but I had already started reading at 10:1. So I argued about it in the class and got into a lot of trouble for arguing with a teacher.
From that moment on I started reading the bible myself (Yes, at age 6) and very quickly decided that the bible was a horror story and I wanted no part of it.

This is the reason I don't get on with my family.

And also why I actually enjoy Mormons knocking at my door. Mainly because I generally know more about their Bible than they do.

Nature is my religion.
Or... sometimes, I like to quote Shirley MacLaine from her "Out On a Limb" days: "God is me."
