Daddy's Little Girl

I miss this. The Daddy thing.

Morning wake-ups and evening tuck-ins
Feeling I was special to him, that I was worthy of his time and attention
Pics and vids and voice things by request and even before
Check-ins through the day to see how I'm doing
His attitude of care, concern, protection
The initiative he takes to meet my needs even before I speak them
All the pet names :eek::heart::heart:

It was good while it lasted. It was the best.

What she said. :)

Ditto! When someone seems to care, it's a fabulous feeing. :)

It is!! And, when those things are missing, it's sad. We talk about self-care, but sometimes it's hard to do when you feel the weight of disappointment.

How are you, Lilliana? <<< not related to my comment!
Just haven't seen you much!

It's very hard to do for us who are both relationally-oriented and pleasers. :rose:

Some of the best things about it. *hugs*

Hi, Moochienanu! I'm sorry you got overlooked the other day, I was focused on one thing at that time.

Welcome to our thread! Will you share a bit about yourself?

I'm bfg... I'm a little/submissive. Sometimes I AM an age-player, but I don't have an age in mind.

I like to color and read and my favorite color is purple, and my favorite stuffies are Piglet and Bandit, a racoon I got last Christmas from Daddy.

Hi barefoot,
I just wanted to say hi and see how you are doing? I hope all is well.

I know that I am a pleaser.
Please, Miss Honey, tell us what you mean about relationally-oriented.

Our motivation comes from our relationships... people vs. tasks or things.

Have you taken a temperament quiz thingy? I like Gary Smalley's bc he uses animals to represent the temperaments and that makes it easy to remember. :) Here's a very condensed summary:

Lion (choleric) - extrovert, goal-oriented
Otter (sanguine) - extrovert, people-oriented
Beaver (melancholy) - introvert, thing-oriented
Golden Retriever (phlegmatic) - introvert, people-oriented

Everyone has some of each, but usually only scores really high on one or two of them. Off the top of my head, I'd say that Farawyn and Des are lions (Can you imagine them in a disagreement? 😂 ), you and Ricky Champagne are otters, Zach and I are Golden Retrievers, and cookie and Blue are beavers. Those are v-e-r-y general assessments, of course.

Florence Littauer and Tim and Beverly LaHaye have also written about the temperaments, using the Greek names for them.

I’d say I’m an otter.

I can imagine them having a discourse, and I'm sure he would be a gentleman and agree to disagree. LOL. We were in a few of those ourselves.

But, I must say that you're wrong about me being an otter. I think I'm a beaver. Believe it or not, I'm VERY shy until I get to know people. The only way I made it to a Munch all alone was because Slinger threatened to kick my behind, and AKL didn't let me shirk it all off. Even going to homeschool meetings the first few times took E's encouragement and a V-day gift in my pocket to know he's with me, thinking about me, waiting for me to report back.

Now, I'm going to find that test.

Here's the link for the test I used

As I thought, it came back for a beaver, followed by an otter. I guess Miss Honey knows one side of me. :D

I think I'm a golden retriever on this scale. (Makes sense, I quiver with excitement whenever someone says "good girl.") I'm such a silly thing.

Hi bfg! I am doing well. I still pop in and lurk. I just haven't had much to say. I've been working very hard on developing some self-care skills and making them part of my daily routine. (I try not to be too hard on myself on the days that I don't do as well.) I've been trying to keep my "little self" out of sight and out of trouble these days! (Although I did get pretty excited about going to A&W and ordering food the other day because it was the first time in my life I'd ever done that!) The pure delight in the novelty of "fast food" has kept my "little" close to the surface this week! (She's dangerous, so it's best to keep her on a tight leash!)

"Good girl" makes my heart swell... "well done" or any kind of praise is going to put a big smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye.

I'm glad you're still around, I hope you pop in more often. Sometimes its just nice to have other littles around and talk and share, you know?

A&W rocks!!! Their rootbeer is yummy. Some of them still have counters like a diner and it's FUN!

Well, that was interesting. Yes, I'm a golden retriever and beaver, strangely they are almost evenly matched. I can totally see that! :D I guess it means that I'm a bit better balanced than I thought!

I saw myself in my results, too. It's a good thing to realize we are pretty normal people!
