I found several composition books and notebooks in my mother's basement when we were cleaning it out that are over 30 years old, filled with ideas and complete short stories. Most of them are silly, the dreams and ideas of a bored adolescent boy waiting to go out and play on the courts and sandlots around the city of Schenectady.

Finally settling back in after a longer than expected stay at the State Fair.

8 hrs with the kids out there, well I wont be doing that again soon. Had to take an early break and find some a/c for my son who is Whitey McWhiteson (you could hold a lightbulb behind him and see thru) but he was more resembling a cooked lobster. Melted like a Reeses cup left on the dash on a July day. Poor kid. It cooled off and became overcast, they found a pace and drove me into the ground with their fun.

Young legs.

I hope your son is feeling better. The night always seems to be the worst with sunburns and lots of other conditions.

Happy Labor Day to my US friends and family here. As I sit contemplating the holiday, a union member for the time being, I wonder at the direction our state and country is taking. But I won't bore you with that talk.

Oh he's OK. Not burned. He was just overheated. But we found refuge at the 4H Building and they cooled down checking out all of the awesome stuff other kids made or grew. They both want to submit something next year. THAT will be interesting




One really terrible thing happened this morning.....'the last betrayal'.....

I've been clearing out the wasteland of accumulation in my basement and made a pile for my ex, who obviously came by while we were at the Fair. I'd been making noises about getting a dumpster so she somehow got up off the couch and made it over with some sort of large vehicle.

She took all of the nonsense, but also left with one of the most very precious things to me.

I didn't find out about it till the morning, and it led to a frantic, panicked shakedown of the kitchen. I began to realize in my search that she had also been through every cabinet. Searching. She was quite comprehensive.

ALL of the coffee filters were gone. As were the paper towel rolls. I had just been to Costco, and had a big bale of rolls. Gone.


I really have to hand it to her on this one. She knew right where to stick the ice pick.

I don't know whether to laugh or stomp my foot and shake my fist after reading this post.

I can only imagine how I'd feel if my ex rifled through things without my input. (And my imagination is pretty good.) Sending you hugs and a paper products care package.

Unfortunately I can relate. My ex -bf and I broke up. I hadnt seen him to get his stuff from my house all weekend. He waited til i went to work monday and got his stuff and cleaned me out of a bunch of stuff i wont even go into. But one thing he did take away was sorta of the same. I had just gone to SAM's Club and he also took all the paper products?! What's up with that???

After being angry about not having coffee at 4am, I've laughed about it continuously since I left Starbucks with a venti double-shot redeye. She's seen me before doing the coffee filter dance. I have no doubt it is amusing. Im wondering if I should go back and look for mini-cams

My son of course was fascinated with the robotic section and shook down all of the teenagers for information. He also wants to grow something. Probably heirloom tomatoes. He built an awesome scaled down tabletop mini waterfall from scratch on a whim this summer after opening my job pic files. I suggested he do that again and he shrugged.

My daughter wants to do quilting and needlepoint. She grew a nice herb garden this year. She isnt sure about next year but hung around the flowers and beekeeping stuff for quite a while.

Im deathly allergic so I hope she passes on setting up an apiary.

My ex doesnt drink coffee. It was just a gut shot LOL. She took the paper towels because she's seen me use them in a pinch. She even cleaned out the coffeemaker of yesterday mornings' grounds to ensure I didnt reuse the filter. I have to admit, she really thought about it

Mine has been nice. Part busy part relaxing. Went to a wedding reception Saturday with a friend. I got my dance on ( I love to dance!). But boy was it HOT that day. Sunday had a girls day out with a dear friend. Lunch, Movie and pedicures ( and a quick trip to home depot lol ).

This morning i went to Starbuck and the most gorgeous guy was working the drive-thru! Got a treat with my treat!
