"No, they aren't good for the waist line but they do help open up the lungs when antibiotics aren't really needed. Methylprednisolone seems to work best for me with less side effects than regular Prednisone - usually taken in a tapering dose - higher to start and gradually tapering off as you improve. I'm not sick, per se - not yet anyway - but I do have asthma and right now it's kicking my......tail....."

Asthma sucks. My Dr was right on my ass about not taking my inhaler, i don't have bad asthma at all and only take it when needed. But have to take it twice a day for the next month now

Had to go to the Dr today (abit over due). My chest is still not good (I knew that already) time for an x-ray, different antibiotics and a puffer twice a day. Ug.
Clearly i caught a super bug from you americans. This has been going on since before new years

I did buy some half price easter eggs though (since know one bought me any).

Sorry to hear that you are feeling bad still. I hope they prescribe some breathing treatments too. Hugs!

TT, the vasy majority of the inhalers are corticosteroids. Feel free to pm me with what you are taking and I'll gladly tell you what I know about it.
Nebuilizer preparations can be steroid or something else, or a combo of both.

Steroids are very helpful in reducing acute inflammatory response, thus giving symptomatic relief, but ---IMO---should not be used long term since they can reduce the body's natural immune response if they are overused.

I hope whatever got ahold of you goes on and "gits."

My allergies are year round, but given the spring bloom we are now having, I have been downright sick with vertigo from sinus/ear issues. Yuck... Zyrtec-D and Singulair daily..
