Hey, I'd like to start a play by email D&D game. (I'd GM, although it would be my first time doing it remotely) I'd like to get 2 to 4 players. I expect gameplay to be mostly fairly slow, but I could see setting aside a weekly "online time" during which I would commit to being available to speed things along for anyone who shows up.

I plan to include D&D combat, honor system for rolls. Definitely reduced in emphasis though, due to the medium. Also, probably not much in the way of horror. Finally, sex is entirely optional and you can skip it, but it will be present, straight,bi or gay. No pedophilia, necrophilia or beastiality.

Anyone who's interested should PM me, with any info about their character that you feel is important. Any L1 D&D char from ed. 3.0 or 3.5 should be ok. OGL only.

Change of forum

By request, I'll be keeping this on literotica. We'll play in this thread, with any secret communications (backstabbing, sabotage, plots against the DM, individual side-actions, random booty-calls, etc.) done by PM. So far the party consists of:

Leanna the wizard and Cassandra the sorceress.

The game starts soon, although I still need a bit of info from players. Finally, please give the title OOC to any reply which is the player rather than the character speaking and, if speaking to a specific individual, please make that clear. The fun starts soon,

Some laws in Darsenleth-Kyr

Theft/Assault/Murder/Rape/Fraud/Forgery/Property Damage/Magical Subversion/Magical Deception/Consorting with Demons/ Raising Undead/ Use of Poison/ etc. are all illegal, with varying nasty penalties. So don't get caught! On the plus side for potential law breakers, most guards can be bribed to ignore minor offenses and some even to ignore serious ones.

Some other irritating rules:

1) Weapons are prohibited in the temple, mercantile and embassy districts (there are 20 other districts where they are allowed. Also, writs of exemption can be obtained)

2) Spellcasters must join the spellcasters' guild. There is an annual fee, as well as occasional requirements for service. In return, certain materials such as scroll inks and certain facilities, basic labs, library are made available. As long as no one catches a member violating the law and dues are paid up, no questions will be asked. Dues increase with character level.

3) Only citizens can own land. No PC starts as a citizen

Some tacit rules:

4) The assassins guild manages all high-profile killings in the city. To join the guild, you must first find the guild. They do not take kindly to 'poachers'

I'll expand this section as your characters learn more about the city. As a highly lawful area, it pays to be cautious at first until you learn how to manipulate the rules to suit your own goals.

I'm not sure what OGL means. I'll give this a shot. I have a wide range of books in my dnd collection, aproaching 40. Not sure if am I allowed to use them sense not every one has access to it.

I'll pm you two character ideas, my prefered character, and a character only using the core collection.

Ooc

Indeed. Open Gaming License; that is, stuff that everyone can legally access online for free (google SRD). I'll check whether I can find your preferred char. I don't own the book and I don't know whether or not the PHB2 is part of OGL.

So when and where do we start....I have been gaming for about 20 years and taken a few years off, but would love to kick it was some of the folks here on lit and throw the dice a few times.

Hey Don, good to see you again.

Sorry popcorn, I learned the basics of first edition, then skip to 3.0 where I lingered and then into 3.5 at which point wizards took most of the money I had.

For the record I made a fighter.

nice to see you too cats, should i PM the starter of the thread? or ? I'm kind of curious what's the party makeup before I make my character.

Yes, you should PM me if you want to play. At the moment, I believe we're full, as 4 folks have submitted basic character info. If one of them drops out, or doesn't show up for a long while, then someone else can play as an alternate, in which case I'd let you folks know.

We will be playing in this thread, starting later today. If you're going to post in this thread and you're not playing yet, please keep it to a minimum and title your posts OOC.

One exception I will make is that if one of you wants to play a healer, I'll let you in over the max. (The max is there because it's my first time Dming online, and I don't want to go crazy keeping track of/waiting for replies from everyone)

The party at the moment consists of a sorceress (f), wizard (f), fighter (m) and frenzied disciple (f). I have yet to receive absolute confirmation from Ravenloft, so if he decides not to play, there will be a spot up for grabs.

If you want to make a character (even with NO guarantee of a spot), it's L1, 36 point-buy on base scores of 8, max scores of 18 prior to racial adjustments. Any race/class on the SRD is fine. Max hp on first hit die and roll twice by class for gp, taking the better roll. Again, I offer NO guarantee of a spot, just that you'll be the first to know if one pops up.

I'm in.

And for anyone scratching their heads as to what a frenzied deciple is, its basically a bard that can use improvised weapons without penalty *Everything up to and including the kitchen sink, other than actual weapons, that is. LOL Extankards, plates, pots, pans, you know, anything laying around.*

they are like bards in that their dances perform bard like magic effects on those that watch them. Facinate and so on. And later on, they can rage like a barbarian.

Its a pretty cool class really.

She's a gypsy with bite.

hey raven, whats up? Also what book/magazine had that class?

So let me get this straight, I have the only male character in an all female party? This isn't going to end well is it?

The frenzied desciple comes from the book of erotic fantasy, I shit you not, it is a published book under the ogl. lol

Play your cards right and you might even get Ezmi to give you a lap dance. lol'

Who's Tumble?

My tumbling skill is +6!

And Im a 6th lvl social engineer. LOL!

Your kidding me. TumbleUpStairs, my girlfriend. I know she hasn't been on in a lng while but I could of sworn you met her.

Oh, well now that you mention her full handle, yes, I know who you're talking about. See, that was like calling me Ray and expecting people to know who you were talking about. LOL! Ray? Who the fuck's Ray? You mean the character from Ghostbusters? LOL!

tumble sounds like a very cool person, just by virtue of having the BoEF!
