Cyberbella's Boudoir

lol... Did they give you a royalty cheque?

Heck no... but I saved that sucker on my laptop until it got fried one day. I would send it to people and go... this is me. They're like what? Yeah I'm in the background. Guess who. lol

That's awesome. You would been the one in the Leafs shirt, right?

Don't feel great about my Rangers after yesterday's game 1. Got outplayed by what looks to be a better Hurricanes team. We'll see, but not the start I was hoping for.

Either way, great to have another full day of hockey (and baseball)

Yes thank goodness for a little normalcy or a great distraction.

I think they did a really nice job setting up the buildings in Toronto and Edmonton.

Doesn't seem like just playing in an empty area. Games yesterday had crazy high intensity. Way more than I was thinking, awesome to see.

We'll see how your boys do tonight

Yeah I caught the Montreal and Pittsburgh game. Mostly because I wanted to see the Pens lose. Glad they didn't let me down. :)

I"m hoping great things are ahead. *fingers crossed*

If I wasn't a fan of another team, I would become a fan of the Seattle Kracken. I think it's a totally cool name, love their logo and their colors.

A serious question, that applies not just to hockey but all teams sports:

Does something other than geographic area/personal connection make you a fan of a team? Do you like the name, uniforms, a specific player, a team's style of play or culture?

I've never been a fan of a team that wasn't in the geographic area I lived in, was passed down to me via my parents, or is the school I attended. I'm curious why/how people become genuine fans of a team if none of these factors exist.

For me it's about geographic or regional locations too. My favorite hockey and baseball teams are both in Ohio. However, a favorite player of mine was traded to another hockey team and I would root for them when we weren't playing them of course. I think that's the risk you take as a hockey fan when you get attached to a player.

There are certainly players in all sports who I like for whatever reason, and am happy to see them succeed, even when not on my team. I would't say though I become fans of those teams. Thinking about how seemingly half the Lightning are former Rangers.

Retired now, but Ryan Callahan leaving the Rangers and going to Tampa comes to mind recently. Guy just worked his ass off every shift, was always happy to see him do well, wherever he was.

I agree with your main point, I've never been a fan of a team not in my area (except of Notre Dame football because I'm irish and catholic, but that has waned over the years). I think people who claim to be fans of teams not in their area are basically bandwagon jumpers, looking for a winner.

So maybe saying I'd be a Seattle fan is a bit strong. I've always liked all things nautical, I like the colors and the name. So they would be on my radar, at least. And besides, I live and die (mostly die) with my Caps, nothing could change that.

I think Ovi is still drunk from the celebration. I'm not sure anyone has partied harder than those guys after the cup win. Seriously impressive raging

That's Ovi without his shirt. Not sure who he's kissing.

This was an impromptu Cup-sharing event at a downtown fountain.

Ahhh lol I like Holtby but he has some odd rituals while in net. He cracks me up. lol

Usually, it's because the team is a great example of how to play the game. I'm from Wisconsin, and thus a Green Bay fan in football, but I also loved the New England Patriots because of the style they used and the culture they developed.

In hockey, we don't have an NHL team, and I'm not going to root for a Chicago team, so in the 90's and 00's I was a huge Colorado Avs fan. Sacic, and Roy, and Forsberg. Great hockey. Also, great jerseys.

Now I mostly follow the Blackhawks, just because I can get their games on the radio and I love hockey. I don't so much have a favorite team anymore. Just a general love for the sport.
