How are you on a Sunday afternoon? Rainy and lazy day for me here

It's a bit overcast, but no rain yet today. It's been a pretty lazy Sunday for me. I just baked a caramel apple pecan pie though and it smells fabulous!

That sounds (and I'm sure smells) wonderful.

I'm looking forward to making a nice steak and some fries (air fried) for dinner tonight

Ahhh I'm having baked steak myself with mashed potatoes and green beans. It's leftovers from Friday, but they were so good I thought it would be a nice Sunday meal.

If only I had a dining partner like that to share my steak with

I go pretty plain. Seasoned with salt and pepper, and a quick sear on the stove in a cast-iron pan for a few minutes as hot as I can get the pan. A touch of butter baste at the end. Perfect

Actually that sounds really good. What kind of steak? What temp?

Found a nice bone-in Ribeye on sale today (about a pound) so went with that.

I shoot for the perfect medium-rare, erring in the side of undercooked rather than overcooked

What's your preferred preparation?

I like medium rare also... I think it's more tender and flavorful.

Sorry I’m late. I had a long day of training. More of the same fun tomorrow! I’ll try to slip in before I leave for work tomorrow. I’m glad you boys are enjoying the thread!
